News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

I pace outside the borders of Spirane, my soul aching to pull me across and yet I know that could be suicidal. Surely Asteraia and Spirane are not totally on the best terms. Jaidah is not really a friend to any of the packs of Moladian so it would be safe to assume I am not welcome within. And yet I know she is in there. I can feel her restlessness, her need for SOMETHING. I haven't seen her since that meeting with Seline and her and it didn't go well and she hasn't approached me since. I had planned on finding her and asking her why she did it, why tease the hungry wolf who wants to rip your throat out? She must have known I would jump in to save her but why would she put herself in that position? Why put ME in that position? She cares for me, I know she does. I can feel it every time we are together, the way her soul rejoices at my presence. I told her I would always be here for her and I intend to keep that promise but she's not making it so easy. Seline has had our puppies and I couldn't be more proud but I feel something different about Ailith's soul and it bothers me. Something new.

Has she found a mate? Adopted a pup of her own? Personally I think Ailith would make an amazing mother. She has a kind heart even if she was a killer in her past. I think she still has more than enough ability to protect herself and those she cares about but she doesn't kill for pleasure as I do. She is no monster. She is pure to me, whole and perfect. I pace more and more as I feel her pain amplify. I know somehow that no one is responsible for this pain. No one is actively hurting and yet she is in pain. I don't like it one bit. A whimper drips from my salivating jaws. I feel helpless out here and I know it's only a matter of time before I break and go to her as I always will. When I hear her call, it's all I can not to rush to her and yet I caught something in the notes of her song. She is calling for friends and pack. Nowhere in that did I hear my name. My ears fold back. Has she forgotten our bond already? Has she rejected me for walking away from the petty arguements of her and Seline? Surely she knows I couldn't have picked a side in that fight. It would have been a betrayal either way.

I can feel her fear and finally I can't take it anymore. I launch myself over the borders, keeping to the shadows and hoping I don't run into any border patrol because that might be awkward and I don't want to fight anyone, not today. Today I only want to come to her. I sprint through the mountainous pack lands, leaping from rock to rock as necessary as nimble as any mountain goat. I may not be a mountain wolf by birth but I have traveled a lot in my lifetime and mountains tend to come with the territory. I manage to reach the dark den where she is just as her fear and pain start to abate. I pause at the entrance, panting and out of breath but my ears are pricked, listening for something, anything. And then she speaks, softly and soothingly, a mother's voice. She is naming her children. I catch wind of their names, Cadwan and Kirsikka. Beautiful names. I want to tell her that but I fear she won't want my presence here. I can hear the softs sounds of suckling now and I know that both are healthy and alive. That's good. But worry gnaws at me, a fierce possessive worry. Who is the father and why the fuck isn't he here? My hackles rise in challenge, a low rumbling in my chest, a mixture of different emotions rising in my veins. Possession is part of who I am and I count her as mine because her soul belongs to me as mine belongs to her. To think of someone touching her like that...it makes my blood boil and makes my veins sing for retribution.

And on the other hand, I want her happiness more than anything and if someone else can give that to her then so be it but being absent at the births of your children? What kind of father and mate does that? My anger only grows but when I sense someone coming, I move further into the shadows, hiding my presence before the pack wolf arrives. I watch him with piercing ice blues, trying to gauge by his reactions at the entrance as to who he is. He acts worried for her and I hear his soft voice reassuring her inside the den but he doesn't speak of love or affection for her any more than a friend would. So is it not him? I hear him encouraging her, telling her how beautiful her children are and my tail lashes against my flanks in protest. I should be the one telling her that, not him. Who is he but a meager friend? I am her SOUL MATE. My jaw tightens and my lips curl back, saliva dripping from my jaws again but I know that with him here, I cannot go in to see her. It would only bring up questions and I still don't even know if I'm welcome. So instead I find a rabbit close by, breaking its neck with ease before I slide back to the den as silently as a mouse and deposit the corpse and a single white rose on top of it at the entrance. I just hope she gets the message. Despite our differences, I'm still here for her. With that in place, I turn and leave the territory as quickly as I came, looking back only once with a look of wanting before I disappear back into the shadows.
