"Your name shall be carved into legend once my Sword has carved into your chest." ~Song Of Achilles
I have had enough of Heyel's training to know when I'm being watched and I know from the moment we get close to the borders of Glorall that indeed we are being watched. I glance around momentarily even as I play with Guardian, looking every bit like I'm not paying attention to anything but I have learned the ruse of disguise well and even though I laugh and seem relaxed and unaware, I am on edge, my muscles quivering with anticipation should our stalker feel the need to act. I do not know yet who is watching but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. And then I catch the movement from my peripheral vision, my head snapping around and tri colored eyes falling on the wolf who is now alpha of Glorall and was once a pack mate of mine. He was always rather a quiet solitary one. Like Guardian said, the only one he really seemed to seek out for company was Solaris. They acted more like brothers than anything but here he is, king of his own domain. How fortunate for him that he has ties to the most powerful pack in Moladian. I guess it's best then that we get on a first name basis since soon he'll be dealing with me as his equal in status.
I let out a soft snort at the quip he lets out as he arrives, letting me know right away that he is the one who was watching us to have heard that before he was even in sight. Sly one, isn't he? I look at him in a whole new light, one brow rising with interest but I let nothing more than curiosity show on my features. None the less, I am on the alert now and watching his body language more intently than ever. He is one to study, this one. I note the arched tail behind him. Does he not know that he has no need to show off his status to a pack wolf? If I was a stranger, sure, he could announce himself as the one who can accept me into the pack but as a potential ally? It's almost like a silent challenge and I am not immune to it, my ears pricking forward good naturedly but my tail gives a flick at the tip, a hint that I have picked up on this cue and am remembering it for later. He asks for our intentions to which I look over at Guardian. I can sense his gaze on me as he waits for the answer but he'll have to be disappointed because I'm only along for moral support on this mission. And for good visual quality, of course. Don't get me wrong, Guardian is a decent looking wolf but can anyone truly compare?
I catch Guardian's reactions to the quip from Eden's lips, his tail wagging and his lips offering a grin that I'm sure is a little indulging in nature. Look at my future guard playing the kiss up game. I always knew he was intelligent. That's one of the many reasons I picked him as my future guard after all. He agrees whole heartedly with Eden, calling him ambitious. I hold my tongue, my eyes impassive. He only won one fight, I want to say. Can't be that hard. i've been sparring since I was young to be prepared for when I get older and defend the crown. We'll see how he does under pressure once the wolves are out to get his crown. Then we'll see his ambition in full stride. None the less, I stay silent for now, my thoughts running over and over as I wait to see how things play out. Indeed Guardian knows me well enough to know that I am not meaning to insult with my silence but rather I am content to watch and study while someone else does the talking. I will add my bits if necessary but this is his show to run and I'm not going to be the one to ruin it. Guardian, even with his strange accent, has always been better with words anyway. My lips twitch with humor at the gesture by Guardian, shifting his weight to cause Eden's attention to sway back to him before he clear his throat to speak.
He gets straight to the point but of course in as polite a manner as possible. He gives him a moment to contemplate and offer an answer and I even note the glance he gives me as if asking if there's anything I want to add but I merely give a flashing smirk to let him know that I am satisfied with what he said. He has done well, as always. Now to await the verdict. Not one much prone to awkward silences though, Guardian is always good about keeping a conversation as light as possible so he jumps right into asking about Solaris, knowing this would be a subject Eden would know something about. It's almost a stealthy ploy though, asking about him coming to stay here. It's like we want to know where everyone is at any one point. I'm sure that may not at all be the way Guardian means it, a pure soul as always, but I find it useful information if Eden chooses to answer fully, that is. Guardian seems as confident as ever that Eden will give him the answer he desires so we can return with good news. Could Eden turn down an alliance with Diveen? My brows furrow a little in thought. If he does, I would wonder instantly at his motivation but of course he would have every right to hold back on such things. Rejecting an alliance would all but mean he holds us as no friend and therefore, perhaps an enemy? Of course, he could always stay neutral but what good would that do him and his pack? But I am getting ahead of myself. I focus instead on the sand at my feet, crunching my toes down in it with a slightly wrinkled nose even while my attention remains mostly on the figure of Eden before us.
