Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He kept finding himself back near the riverside, probably for several different reasons. One, the water was a good thing to have around, two, it was sort of serene here. Three, he felt drawn to the area right now, because it was probably the best neutral area to be in while he debating on a pack. That situation was taking a lot longer than he had planned on it taking, though in making a mistake in his thought process and gathering of information before, Riot though he needed a 'time out' in choosing. It was the right thing to do, he felt, and instead of going for the second pack that had been in mind, he felt that he could not lower his expectations of where he wanted to live. Not simply because the first a near-home had failed before it started.

So he roamed, calmer this time. His mis-step in pack choice had him no longer feeling the same impatience as before, because he was sure that it was that impatience that almost had him bound to the wrong place. And once he decided on which pack, he planned to stick to it. Which came to the fact that yes, he still had to make two more trips, but he wasn't in any kind of rush. Riot would deal with those things a little later. Today he aimed to relax. So far that was going great. He went for a swim this morning to wash off a bit, then he had caught a beaver for lunch. On land, the creatures were not as great in getting away, which made the riverside even more of interest as a type of home base for now. Slower water creatures when on land.

With a full enough day gone by -- although not at all the jam-packed day he would have wanted in another situation -- Riot was currently basking on a rock near the river, letting the last hours of sun warm his furs. He debated the idea of finding company to talk to, as he hadn't been the normal socialite as usual. It made him feel a little off, a little more disconnected. Not a particularly good feeling to be having, but he remembered it well from the years spent traveling before he had returned here. There was still no trace of parents, but then again, Riot hadn't been looking for that truth. Maybe someday he would, but for now.. he just let it go.
