It is odd for her to seek out company such as this but Raven has a comforting presence. Soothing and relaxed. Thus far she had yet to see Raven show herself in a mean or vindictive manner, which is pleasing to Aithne and she suspects that beneath her calm veneer that Raven would not hesitate to defend herself or her country. Andras would not have chosen her for his daughter if he had not thought some strength in her, both physically and emotionally, and Aithne has had much cause to see the truth of it. Raven had fought her illness like a warrior and despite how her body betrayed her she had come through just fine with a little help. Aithne did not need to manage the movements of her Consul for Raven was like her right paw, she moved in manners befitting of her position without being told. It was why, to Aithne, she had earned her spot. Just as Avery had earned hers - the two makeshift daughters of Andras, in a sense.

The moment that she mentions helping Raven the whole atmosphere shifts. Tension laces the swift movements of her Consul and it arouses a swift suspicion in the emerald eyes of the Empress as she turns her gaze upon the girl in a curious manner. What could Raven have done to cause her to react thusly to such an innocent and honest line of questioning? Aithne could be a bit paranoid at times and for a moment she feels her gut clench as she looks at the girl just waiting for her to admit suddenly that she had betrayed her. That she had sold information to others - perhaps to Asteraia? - or that she was plotting some coup to take over the throne. All of this was nonsense and in her heart Aithne knew it wasn't true but minds do have a tendency to wander.

Then she blurts it out and Aithne watches her with a blank face for a few moments. Raven clearly thinks that she is about to be punished for such behavior or berated. Aithne takes a minute before she replies, pondering through this new fact. "I am certain that Avery probably scented him in one of her runs and if she saw fit to let him through and you trust him then I hold no ill will towards his presence. I have been.. negligent, lately, in my runs since Pr-" she catches herself, swallowing her words quickly, not willing to admit her attraction and her pleasure at Praetor's presence. "Since the arrival of those from Glorall. I am hoping that they will stay here permanently. I trust your judgement, Raven, just remain cautious as ever." And that was about the scolding she was going to get before matters switched directions.

"As for the trip to Taviora, if Avery is willing she can accompany you and the children. Perhaps the mother, Vera, should like to also go, but if not then you could see if Arkane or Maverick would assist. They are both seeking a rank and this would be a good task for them to prove their devotion to their cause." She smirks suddenly, knowing that Maverick has not given his full word to remain here but also that he seeks to see what she thinks of him after he has completed some tasks. What was one more?
