Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

KAMALA
EDEN x RENAI NEWBORN

Frustration that Eloah moved at a quicker pace than she did was written all over her small face. She felt as if the world had dealt her a bad hand—making her so much smaller than her sister. It just was not any fun. The day was normal, she supposed. Nothing had struck out to her like it was a strange thing. No strange visitors, the healer hadn’t stopped by today, hopefully that meant momma would be able to play with us soon! It was a strange feeling, watching her lay there most days, while she watched the other mothers playing with their pups. It wasn’t nice. And the fathers? They played too. It wasn’t fair. Momma never spoke of who their father was, maybe it was because they didn’t have a good relationship, she didn’t know.

She looked over her shoulder at the mouth of the den, momma laid there, with her head just out enough for the sun to shine on her white and grey face. Her eyes were barely open but Kamala knew she was watching her. The call sounded then, and she moved off as fast as her little legs would carry her small frame, bounding through the long grasses, her small body looking much, much too small to be wandering alone. But she caught sight of Eloah’s body moving in the same direction that the sound came from. It had sounded as if the male who called was calling them, but Kamala was too unsure.

Still she moved, bounding through the grasses towards the sound. It was just over the border of Asteraia. And she stopped a bit of a distance before it, unsure if she was allowed to cross it, but the sight of Eloah doing just that caught her eye, so she began creeping up to the border. Her smaller size allowing her to move quietly in the grasses, moving slow enough to barely move the grasses. She heard voices then—Eloah’s and another, deeper, gruff voice of a male. She took her time walking towards them, slow enough to catch the words that were spoken. Father was the one that stood out the best, and she narrowed her gaze.

She finally reached the opening in the grasses near them, her small body stopped there, watching them for a few moments more. She had wondered who their father was, and if he was the reason their bodies were so different in size. It was clear that Eloah took after him in size, he was huge compared to momma. But, was he truly their father? She sighed a little, before pushing her way through the grasses, slowly walking up behind Eloah. She stopped, sitting, silent as ever. Her little eyes accusing and untrusting. Even if he was their so called father—she wouldn’t think of him as that unless he proved worthy of the name. This would be a harbinger compared to anything else.
