Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Sinclair
Then the Strongest Heart Grows Old

He had some good instincts he admitted to that. Trying to get him off balance though was something he didn’t think the male could achieve even has his back leg left the ground the rest of his form was grounded down his weight spread out as evenly as he could be for a male so thick as Sinclair. It appeared to Sinclair the other male thought himself a bit bulkier than he was. It was fine, it was what he was here for, to learn to train and to take a few good bites out of someone who didn’t care to be bitten. They clashed and scrapped about. His black tipped tail swished through the air to futher keep him on his toes bending about to balance him while his eyes watched Solitaire's last movements.

Their jaws just missed one another as Sinclair went for his last mark and Solitaire went for his. He was already shorter than the male he was teaching and his head lunged down feeling the pinch of fangs just off the side of his neck in his thick fur and touching the skin causing it to prickle lightly. Solitaire wasn’t aiming to hurt him, but if he was it was an area Sinclair would have been willing to sacrifice anyway in exchange for trying to wound the paw that now was so close to his grip. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to take hold; the other brute was agile he already knew that much so as the paw was whipped away he only could feel a small slice as it was taken away from him. Good at least he knew what was important to him given his body and set of skills. He was pleased overall and as they fought it seemed to Sinclair that he was starting to realize brute strength wouldn’t get him as far as using his speed.

As his student settled himself Sinclair did as well, lowing himself to his white haunches and giving a few nods of thoughtful approval. ”You have a fair bit of natural talent, you have warriors for parents?” He asked and only continued on once he was given a reply. ”Well, I will say you might be trying to muscle your way through, but by the end you were using what you had. You did well, protect your legs, your paws and lower neck. Your speed will be what will save you should some brawny brute like me decide they want to take a bite out of you. Never get caught, Solitaire for I fear you would potentially be tossed around like a ragdoll if you were. You have some muscle to use though, don’t get me wrong.” He said giving a good natured chuckle.

”Take some time in the future to look over your opponent and see what your best tactic would be. You are, perhaps unfortunately, blessed to be able to do all things… which might come to hurt you in the end, but use what you have right and I think you would come out of a fight, perhaps not a victor but at least alive. Being good at all things makes it hard to be a great at any one without practice. Do you want to be a fighter or does your path take you elsewhere? ” He wanted to know, for he wasn’t sure how much he had to teach the grey male if he was just wanting some basic skills, he had those down, no doubt about that there was a little more to learn about himself and his own form for sure, but skill wise if he didn’t want to into advanced lessons Sinclair had little more to teach him if he was being honest.
