The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Taytim

Taytim listened to what Rodrigo had to say to her. She understood the safety that came with being in the Vulcan herd, with her foal on the way she knew those safety concerns were more pressing than they normally would have been. That all being said, her spirit willed her to keep moving, and she felt like she could not stay long in this place if she had tried. Ysabell had presented rules to the mare, and she disliked them. Never could she call a place home if it kept gentlemen like Rodrigo prisoner.

The young lady grinned at his affection, always overjoyed at the idea of creating friendships with those around her. In return she blew gently at him, her spirits lifting. She laughed softly. “You are right, sir! So I am free to stay and keep you company. Possibly more pleasant than the alternative.” She looked over at Ysabella, her ears flicking back again is dislike towards the other woman.

Ysabell spoke again and Taytim opened her mouth to snap back again, until the buckskin clarified that she had been joking. This took Taytim aback. It was the first time the other had shown a dusting of something that could be considered friendliness. Taking another look at the other mare, Taytim started to realize she was not much other than herself, if even that. This prodded her curiosity and a small amount of forgiveness or understanding towards Ysabell’s attitude towards them. Not everyone had the same life, and it was very possible this was how Ysabell had come to deal with the world around her.

Those facts did not entirely dismiss Taytim’s displeasure at the buckskin’s words and actions, even though she could begin to grasp where they came from.

So really you have no say here?” It had been a rare thing for the mare to drawl, or speak in anything but a friendly tone. It must have been something she had just picked up from the queen of sarcasm before her. Her tail swished. “Empty threats.” She grinned impishly at Rodrigo. “I believe that still gives you a pretty free reign.” Even if it did not give Rodrigo the freedom to do what he wished in the land of Vulcans, it did give Taytim the chance to be a bit of an annoyance if she so chose. After all, they were in the snowy peaks of the Common. Dangerous, yes but possibly interesting to roam around the drifts that the snow and wind would have created.
