The thought of imprints was so foreign, she hadn’t known about anything surrounding imprints. Even in Spirane, she hadn’t seen any one on one, because really, she didn’t go out looking to find them. She didn’t even know the real meaning of it. She didn’t think that being bound to someone by fate’s say so was a pleasant idea, it didn’t make sense to her. How was it any good to be tied to something that you didn’t start on your own? Something that was just thrown in your lap.
She wanted love, yes, but she didn’t want someone to be tied to her without choice. That only made her hurt just thinking about it. She didn’t know that this was the beginning of that—of having someone bound to her without choice. She didn’t know if she’d like it any.
Her two hued eyes turned to him, one pink, one gold. She gave that soft, genuine smile. She loved meeting new people, and he was no different. He spoke again, and she found herself smiling a bit more. It was a strange though, that his meeting her caused him to see in color again, and she didn’t know if she could quite believe that. But then again, she didn’t know him well enough to know if he was telling the truth. Soon, he spoke again, this time about Imprints, and she found her smile dulling a bit, when he said he would ask nothing of her. She didn’t quite understand it at first, but soon, something clicked in her mind. His world must already be chosen, his heart given away.
She forced the smile to return a bit, to palliate the unknown feeling rushing through her. “Well, I suppose since I don’t really understand the whole Imprint thing, it doesn’t bother me. It’s nice to meet you Sabriel.”
