The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

I feel the satisfying impact of my body hitting hers and then we're rolling down the hill. There's not much time for grace but I end up straddling her as I meant to, my jaws parted in her face, soft growls dripping from my fangs as I threaten her. The odd thing is, she's not reacting the way I feel she should be. She merely smiles up at me as good natured as you please. My brows knit together in puzzlement, blue and green eyes flashing. It's hardly as fun to be intimidating when they just smile at you. It'd be much more fun if she was scared or better yet, trying to act badass and not scared but instead it's almost like she doesn't know to be scared. She squirms beneath me but strangely it doesn't seem like she's trying to get loose, only as if she's not one to sit still for too long. Her words make me snort in derision as I jerk my head back a little and scowl at her. "Flying's for the birds, girl. Dying usually happens on the ground for the rest of us."

As she stretches her neck up, My lips curl back in warning, another snarl dripping from my jaws but the warning goes unheeded, her tongue licking up at my jaw line, reminding me of the affectionate kisses pups will give their mothers while they're eating. What the...? My head snatches back now out of reach, bringing my paw up to pop her on the nose. "We don't do that here. Keep your tongue in your mouth unless you're choking on it." I scold her with narrowed eyes, wanting to make sure she got the message. At her next words, I can't help but snort again, shaking my head a little as my ears prick forward. What's this girl's deal? I lean down again to whisper silkily. "Oh I know I feel nice, right up until I feel not so nice." She giggles and I draw back at the sound, finally sighing as I straighten up and get off of her, somehow assured that she won't try to escape.

I scowl at her, tilting my head as I study her. "What's your name? Where did you come from?" Pointed questions but I feel I should know these things. I also want to know if she's just pulling my leg with this whole ditzy thing or if it's real. I have ideas curling in my mind. Everyone else seems to have dolls around here to play with when they feel like it, shouldn't I get the same courtesy? I am the Beta of Abendrot, after all. I get up and circle around her, letting my tail skim her sides as I take her in. She's young, that much is obvious, but wills he do this pack any good? Kershov spoke of needing healers at the pack meeting. I can't very well teach her about herbs since I don't know jack squat but maybe I can take her to someone who can? But I need her loyalty first. How else am I to be assured she'll return to me? The smirk that curls on my lips is eager as I turn back to her. "Have you eaten?"
