At one point in time, Misty Mountain stood opposite of Rainbow Cliff, and these rose to the sky as the only peaks in Blossom Forest. Since the magical change of the land, an entire chain of peaks rose from the bowels of the earth to become the Culter Unlaeddod - the Teeth of the Gods. Misty Mountain is still of the peaks, but many others exist as well. They run from north to south, from east to west. Atop some of the peaks, snow covers them year round, making the paths slippery and hazardous. Others are lower in altitude and are extremely humid, covered in thick, dense forests with mists swirling between each of the trunks. Others still are bare - naked boulders rising and falling haphazardly.

These chains of peaks do connect many of the packs, and they hold many things to explore - forbidden forests, deep and mysterious caves, beautiful scenic cliffs. However, one must have care - if you fall, it is a long, long, long way down...

Due to the varying terrains, many prey options are available. For those scared of injury, you may find ptarmigans, ravens, crows, squirrels, dormice, or rabbits. The adults hunting alone can find mountain goats... but for those hunting in a pack, there are elk, moose, and Bighorn Sheep.

Abysmal Loneliness [ Zero ]

Her legs extended with each stride, covering more ground each time one of her pads landed upon the earth. Her russet and gray pelt melded into a single color as she hastened her speed, striving to put distance between herself and the pack. She was neither graceful nor quiet, and before her all prey that she may have sought to hunt fled from her coming. Branches broke, leaves crumbled beneath her, rustling... No, Hellene was no sort of spy. She could not sneak or do anything of a similar nature - all of these forementioned traits were things that were gifted to her twin sister. As were patience, intelligence, modesty, and tact. This ess was nothing like her sister… In fact, the only two things that she could brag about were her quick temper, and her knowledge of herbology.

If one were to ask her why she was fleeing from her pack, her answer would be simple. Because she could. Finally, both of the pups she had adopted had matured into young adults. While it was true that they were still a family, they no longer needed her. Or, at least, they no longer needed her as they used to. Now was the time when they would be pushed out of her den to find their own. Khaleesi was most definitely ready - she had already picked her poison as to what she was going to spend the test of her life doing. She had decided to follow in her mothers footsteps and become a healer. Destan, On the other hand, had not quite discovered himself yet. His fear remained, though it was much less than to the extent it had been when he was but a pup. Getting him to find his own den would be difficult, and to force him out would be cruel. But perhaps, it would be a necessary evil. Perhaps he needed to struggle a little in order to find his way in life. His mission. His purpose

And so, the mother had been retreating from her offspring bit by bit. Slowly taking away the pedestal that she had placed them on. That was not to say that she was not still overly protective of them, because she was. They would always be her pups and she would always fight to the death to protect them from any harm. However, she was not coddling them as she used to. No, she needed to let them struggle and puzzle out problems for a little while by themselves do their could come up with their own solutions and answers.

But it was hard. God was it hard. She hated seeing them struggle, and wanted instead to take away their confusion and pain. She wanted to provide them with a simple, easy life. But there was no such thing. She needed to teach them how to live without her while she was still there for them. That was the only way to ensure that they would survive without her when she really was gone. And so she had left them, stretching her limbs as far as they would go, as fast as they would. Only now, when she had reached the top of the Misty Mountain did she stop. Her breath came in short, shallow gasps and she laid down, crossing her paws and laying her head upon them, looking over the edge at all that laid beneath her.
