Damian was actually very kind about her ripped eye. "It's very nice to meet you. Please don't apologize for something that you cannot control." Kanaya smiled again, softly. This ebony brute before him was very sweet, compared to many other boys she had met, besides Karkat. As she applied the remainder of the medicine to his chest, Damian pondered.
"May I ask what you were fighting for Kan? The beautiful fae froze for only a moment. Then she went back to her limber state, only taking a deep breath beforehand. "Well, you see, I had a childhood friend. He died at the beginning of his teenage years, he just started coughing up blood and I didn't know what to do." She paused in her vocals for only a second, placed her paw back down on the ground, and continued. "He always had the dream to rule. To be in charge. To be an alpha. But he died so young, and I said I would fufill that dream for him. So I challenged Andere Siete. I left some good marks, but mainly because of my eye I lost." She took another deep breath, looking up at the sky once again. "I don't think Karkat would mind though. He knows I tried my hardest."
Kanaya smiled again, looking back at Damian. From what she could see, as the lack of a working orb, he seemed like a trustworthy brute.
and though I'm one of them, I'm rarest of my kind, for many fell but only I arose.
"Look at all the many colors, so exquisitely embroidered," She soothed, cradling the pup in her warm bodice.
