PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK

IMPAZIENZA

The names that rolled from the sooty mare’s lips were unfamiliar to Impazienza, and the mare’s own name was even more of a mouthful than her own calling, but the blanketed draft did her best to retain them. “Is there a shorter version of your name you like to go by, or do you prefer to be addressed as Ysabell...an... I’m sorry. You’ll have to tell me one more time,” she said, flicking her ears back apologetically. Calphir, she repeated to herself. Mount of 1,000 thieves.

While this information was important to Impazienza and she was interested to know more, her attention shifted to the more interesting piece of information the young mare brought her: a gift, an offering to the Peak and the mares who lived upon it. The black mare turned her half-blind gaze to look beyond Ysabellanazeka and down the mountainside. Intermittent patches of the stony ground broke up the thin blanket of snow with shades of gray and brown, and here and there the first stubborn bit of green had begun to show through. “Bring me to him,” she commanded, and as it was obvious the stallion was not currently with Ysabellanazeka, stepped forward to descend the mountain with the assumption that her companion would take the lead when they neared the gift.

In the meantime— “What brings you from a land as distant as Calphir to this Peak?” she asked. Impazienza had never left the Islands, and she was aware her experiences in the world were limited to one set of lands. Calphir could be as close as the mainland across the ocean, but she doubted it. Jezibelle had been off the Islands and never mentioned such a place, and the same had been for Ikari, her grandsire, who was much more forthcoming when asked questions than her absent sister. The black mare’s assumption, given the agile build of Ysabellanazeka and the mare’s admittance of a lengthy journey, was that Calphir was far away indeed. Impazienza did not think her mountain was known about in other lands, nor had she ever thought that any part of these Islands would be relevant to horses who did not live on them. She was surprised, but she also accepted this new knowledge with a casual roll of her shoulders as they continued downhill and waited to hear more from the sooty mare.
