Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Life had been turned upside down for the brute. Everything seemed to be going well in his pack. The lupines were becoming more active, more wolves were coming to the borders seeking refuge, something he was more than happy to give to those in need of a home. He was glad that the pack was coming back to life and that the wolves were getting to know each other more. When he did his daily border patrols he caught the scents of more lupines out and about, something that always brought a smile to his features. And the smoke brute thought that this was how his pack was going to be, that everyone was going to be safe and happy here, that everyone would feel at home.

And then he was visited by another alpha that had changed everything. Kershov, alpha of Abendrot, had come to his borders, claiming to want to talk politics. Summer always thought the best of other vargs, but he was skeptical of this particular lupine. Their two packs were known to be enemies, and he did not understand why the other alpha decided to come and speak with him. That was not the biggest surprise though. His brother, Grey Wind, was by the varg’s side. Last time Summer had seen his brother was when he was a pup, and he thought his entire family was dead. And here Grey Wind was, stepping up to his borders with a varg that was known for killing and torturing other beings. What had led his brother to join a pack with that reputation? He had no idea, and he was afraid that the brother that he had known before was gone.

Summer’s mind was a blur, thoughts and images of what had happened at his borders flashing through his mind. He was beginning to get a headache and he decided he needed some space. He knew that he had his pack mates to talk to and be there for him, but he needed some space. His large frame quickly trotted through the trees, stepping over the borders of his pack into other areas of Blossom that he did not often visit. The brute decided to head somewhere he had not explored before, Misty Mountains. He had heard that they were a good place to go and be alone, but had not felt the need to be alone as of late. He turned his body in the direction of the mountains, quickening his pace to a run, letting his plume trail lazily behind him.

Even though it was summertime as he approached the mountains, the air grew colder and mist began to thicken around him. It was refreshing to be in a cooler area with his thick pelt. He was built to live where it was cold, and sometimes Blossom grew a little warmer for his taste. But he liked it here and it was worth the slight discomfort. As his paws carefully climbed the mountain his mind wandered again to his brother. If Grey Wind was alive what did that mean about the others? Could his younger brother Rickon be alive? What about his sister Nymeria? And their half-brother Ghost? He already knew that his sister Lady had died, something that he had been too late to fix or help with, something that still gave him nightmares.

With the thoughts muddling his mind Summer was not paying any attention to where he was going. His paws seemed to walk on their own, guiding him through the mountains and the snow that was beginning to be more present. And then suddenly he was tripping over something, someone actually. His smoky form tumbled to the ground as his paws lost their footing. He quickly leapt to his paws, embarrassment clear on his features. The brute’s yellow orbs focused on the black form of a female with blue eyes. He hoped he hadn’t gotten her too angry by stepping and then tripping over her. ”I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying any attention to where I was walking. Are you alright?” He features showed that he was genuinely apologetic and embarrassment was still etched on his face.
