Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

REACH FOR THE DEAD

The dark sister does give a growl in return to the shadow brother. The shadow brother had taken from sister, but it is now his, and life simply is that way. Sister does possess and take what is hers, and shows them all that they are not to take any more. Singe flickers his large red eyes to her, and it is then that she moves her muzzle to him. He feels her against him, and she is very much large and knocks him gently to the ground. His black paws wave in the air a moment before he flops back around. She had taken the kill without him, and he scrambled to catch up to her.

He arrives to the den once Sister is leaving it once more with a single rabbit in her mouth. He lifts himself on his hind legs again, tail wagging madly behind him as he yips. She speaks and his ears flip forward to listen, but waiver as he hears the shadow brother coming to watch what Sister has come to teach us. He listens and watches as she teaches. Not everything processes as perhaps it should, but he understands enough of it, and makes some inferences with her actions and the words. Sister is the only one to speak, to use words around them and thus exposure is not as pups born in packs, but Singe was able to grasp onto every word and absorb it like a thirsty sponge.

She then offers the rabbit to him, for him to mimic her actions to it. The shadow brother takes notice though, and the boy's lava pools look to his brother as he smacks the rabbit and jumps back. It causes Singe to jump back naturally, although part of him knew the creature would not rise. Whenever he saw creatures like this, they never rose again, and yet...one could never be too sure. He looks to the shadow brother, seeing the confusion on his face, and the white and black boy looks to the rabbit and the complete deadness of its form. It all came together and made sense to Singe in that moment, that this was just practice, that dead is dead and will not live again. The shadow brother speaks and Singe furrows his brows a bit. He lets his black paws step forward, nose lowering to sniff it.

"Dead, is dead, to be dead, dead...kill" he said, with almost a hint of frustration on his wrinkled muzzle. He could not seem to formulate the ideas in his head into words. He wanted to explain to his brother. His vocabulary was too small, but he knew what he was trying to say and yet, simply, would not find the word, so he had to make his own...that must be how it works.

"Dead netim, dead fortim," he said, attempting to make words for what he thought there were no words for. His muzzle reaches out to latch onto the neck, and he will squeeze down real tight before releasing and looking to Sister for approval. His lava pools search his Sister before going back to the shadow brother, licking his lips at the slight taste of blood in his mouth, and wondering if the shadow brother was going to try, or even, attempt to steal the whole rabbit for himself, which Singe's position was ready to fight for.
