Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

No doubt she is an odd sight, this willowy wisp of a wolf toned in chocolate hues standing amongst the sparse, harsh grasses that dared grow in this climate. Luckily she was not close enough to know the ocean that spanned wide just over the hills in the distance, not close enough to tangle with the constantly shifting sands which she had never before felt beneath her paws, surely that would have been a terrible incident. Mayhap this is why her instincts halt her at the border, so well placed and marked that she cannot cross it for the alarms that ring in her head, even if they are not totally necessary. After all, what threat is she? Still as she sits just outside the reach of her precious poppies her body wiggles slightly, as if she might never have been truly still a day in her life. Her long, slender tail flicks with agitation in the grasses, almost catlike as her body strains between the rules that she must inherently follow and that which she wants.

Of course it doesn’t take someone too long to find her, sitting in the open air like this and shouting was bound to attract attention and luckily for her it is not the unfortunate kind. It takes a bit longer than perhaps it should have for her to notice her new companion, however, so intent is her gaze on the smattering of brilliant red flowers that almost shone amongst the neutral grasses surrounding it. It is the sound of approaching steps that finally grew loud enough which causes her head to jerk up suddenly, brilliant eyes of ice blue and lavender hurrying to try and refocus on whoever it was. She stills a bit more while she observes the gray she-wolf that approaches with friendly intensity. Her chocolate tail begins to beat the ground with solid thuds as she watches her traipse through the flowers she so desperately wants without crushing, and though she does not make to actually stand herself a quiet whine echoes from her slender chest.

The woman pauses a fair distance back from the invisible barrier and at her words Adelia’s overly large cream-tipped ear perked forward like saucers. Help. The word echoed within her head and a smile broke over her muzzle, crinkling the area around her eyes. “Poppies, poppies though not for what they do,” she responds, her words and voice almost sing-song in their manner just as she lurches forward, head tilted back down the flowers, as if to finally go to them, before being halted once more. “But walls and walls they just don’t come crumbling down.” The last words are a bit sadder as she sits again, her gaze turning back to the gray wolfess though not looking her directly in the eyes, instead training a bit to the left of her shoulder.
