Sometimes it was difficult for a loner wolf to adjust to the lifestyle of a pack. It was even more so for a loner to be elevated into Alpha status. Naturally she kept to herself, but she understood she needed to be around. It was a double edge sword really. Part of her loathed being so close to others, and the other part of her relished in it. With a change in lifestyle it would take a while for her to adjust, but eventually she saw herself as a decent alpha. So far she had not done anything that would threaten the lives of her pack, well almost, she did have a yearling accompany her to deal with a mountain lion. Yet that dangerous situation led to an excellent teaching experience and a good lesson for the boy that wished to become her Orthros. Weakness was not something she would tolerate. Always she knew since she was young that anything weak needed to be obliterated. She had taken the pack with an Alpha that was close to being non-existent. Now she was in charge of a pack with members that seemed to enjoy spending their time alone. Which was fine by her, but she needed to fulfill that part of her that sought out the connection of others. Since her time here she had not done anything to push and oppress the others. She gave them time and room to adjust.
Typically she was out and about within the fields, her obsidian form slinking through the dying grass, completely on alert. Yet today she was actually sleeping within the dark and coolness of her den. With winter fast approaching she knew she had to take it easy. It wouldn’t be long before someone came along her border and cause her a headache. Today though she had nothing to concern herself with. Hardly anyone within the pack came to her for something even though she had kept the doorway to communication open. She was quite easy to approach. Her counterpart however, not so much. Everyone within the pack seemed to have their own goal in mind and she wasn’t bothered by it, but she would always be there to help them if they asked. Some wolves wanted to be Alphas to control and rule others, and she was not that wolf. Today though it would seem that someone had an interest and requested her presence.
Her half-torn ear twitched to the side when she heard the hoarse bark. Dark eyes opened slowly as she let out a soft sigh. Lifting her head she noticed a shadowed lupine figure hanging out near the opening of her den. Slowly she would lift herself up moving her upper frame down as she extended her neck and forelegs, stretching to release some of the tension she felt. Shaking herself she would slowly pad forward and emerge from her entrance. The light from the sun seemed to enhance the deep scars that zig-zagged across her form and as she stood in front of her den she would turn her head to see Starshade. With a flick of her tail she would quietly walk closer to the girl her head tilting to the side as she allowed herself to sit, curling her tail around her paws. Cool lyrics easily dripped from her scarred muzzle as she looked inquisitively at Starshade.
“Is there something I can help you with?”
