Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Nathaniel knows that he should have been resentful towards Glorall and Eden. He had been, in the very beginning, but it had drifted away once he had arrived. The pack was a peaceful place - no one attempted to start conversation with him, he had a comfortable place to sleep, and it was overall a quiet place. There was nothing to spark his temper and it was surprisingly relaxing to the brute: holding grudges and being angry was tiring in the worst way.

The sun was starting to sink when he slipped out of his den, fire eyes watching the last of the rays begin to fall. The evenings are cool here, more so now that fall has arrived. He supposes it has something to do with the water being so close, the idea solidifying when a breeze comes, carrying the scent of salt and sand with it. He's become accustomed to the scent, once harsh and unfamiliar, now welcomed.

He sets off, heading towards the border. Nathaniel isn't sure where he stands in the pack at this point: he had been given the option of leaving, but hadn't when Eden's hold on him was over, and still hadn't left the borders. He should probably speak to Eden about it, bit hadn't found the desire to - so he didn't.

As he strolled the heavily marked line, the boy caught the scent of a woman from the previous winter - Namaah. A smirk graced black lips as his lazy pace turned to a mild trot, interest piqued. Her scent led him to a different part of the border and then vanished into the unclaimed lands. Curiosity stretched across his mind like a lazy cat and he took a few steps through the underbrush, almost stumbling over the dark shape in front of him.

Taking a step back, Nathaniel's eyes narrowed onto the pup. It young male smelled heavily of Namaah, and though it was dark, Nathaniel could make out the brown shades of his pelt. Leaning forward, Nathaniel didn't hesitate in sniffing across the male's face and neck - halting when, buried underneath Namaah's scent, he found his own cologne. "Wonderful," he muttered quietly, still processing. A quick sniff of the air alerted him that there had been two pups and he heaved a sigh.

Nathaniel wasn't exactly father material, but he did have some common sense. He leaned down to rasp a quick and, hopefully, comforting lick to the first pup's head. "Stay here, I'll be right back with your brother," he said sternly, turning on his heel and taking long strides after the pup's scent. It didn't take him long to come upon the darkly colored pup and with another long stride, he came to stand in front of the child. "You must be the brother," he rumbled quietly, dipping his head to sniff the pup in a similar fashion as before, confirming his statement. "Let's get to back to your brother, hm?"
