Whimsy was rather lucky she did not know cost. She still had trouble with the currency of Shaman, since birds had no use of coin. To her mind the bright colors were easily made by finding the correct plant, and spending hours over hot stinking pots, mixing and setting the dyes. But any cost of cloth or rare plants the Academy covered for now as part of her learning experience. She shrugged to indicate she did not know much about it.

She didn't know why their mouths were hanging open or they were looking at her like she had a second head when she mentioned familiars. She half thought to turn around and look for the monster sneaking up behind her but resisted the temptation. The awkwardness was there, gaping at her. But maybe it was her imagination. Whimsy did get a bit self concious when reminded she still did not know what was "normal" in this world.

Whimsy was not sure what a police officer was. She knew Birch, who she had met earlier, worked as a guard. But come to think of it she was not at all aware of who or what. Politics and government were not classes she took or had interest in. "That sounds interesting. I have a friend who is a guard." Though who knew if Birch would consider her a friend or not. Probably an acquaintance. But she had helped Whimsy a lot. "Um, I guess once I'm finished I can sell things and take on work" she says, looking around at the market again. Unless she found a comfortable position selling to nobles and private families, and doing work just for them, she would probably find herself at the marketplace each sale day, bringing her goods with her.
