Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Illyria did not fear the migrating herds of prey or how elusive some of it got when Winter came. She was better at blending in the snow than within a forest or field, so her hunting progress was often sastisfactory. Her slightly longer than average fur was able to keep her well insulated from the cold, though it was true with a smaller form it was sometimes difficult to keep the warmth to begin with. Yet a good hunt could take care of that issue, and warm meat in her belly made the thought all the more ideal to her. The Winter was what it was, and there was no use complaining over it. This was the view that Illyria had, and she more interested in dealing with what she could change than what she could not.

Of course that was why she had been eyeing the packlands as she was; because they could provide better dens for warmth and more protection from weather and predators during the colder months. They could help her ward off the less controlled creatures that roamed when Dieloch was not at her side. Of course Illyria was old enough by now to know how to defend herself if the need should arise, because one such as she learned all of this quickly. She had been more or less and lingering wolf on the outskirts of any civilizations for a long time, only deciding now to follow Dieloch into the spotlight of societies. He had proved himself to her, and Illyria needed nothing more to add to that.

It did not escape her notice that the male moving towards her had begun to pose at her once he had stopped those feet away, but Illyria held little interest in any of that. It took a bit more to impress her, and his posturing was not cutting it. Nor did his words when his musk was thick in the air. He was already multi-scented, which only told her that he was not the sort that was going to linger for the support or raising of pups when Spring drew near. Not that this bothered her much, as she was not looking for any such relations with wolves that were not Dieloch. What he was looking for, he was not going to find here with her today. Her own posture became more rigid, closed off.

And the male's words did not change anything. Pupil-less white eyes looked at him, but the gaze seemed blank as anything. "It is in your best interest to send your attention elsewhere, dog." The words were calm and without malice or much emotion at all. Even the word 'dog' was said as if it were a name rather than an insult; but the statement's meaning seemed to be pretty clear, either way. Illyria was not interested in his introductions or anything else he might want to offer her. She was not the most social of creatures, that much was true. She could care less if she had interactions with other wolves on a daily basis or not. Even Dieloch was not required to be nearby often. Illyria did not need it, nor did she like the indication that she might be crowded by anyone at all.
