Riot would not like degrading things spoke of him, for he had an ego and he had done all he could to keep it unharmed by recent events, but alas.. it was not. No more jabs to it could be taken lightly, fighter or not, but for now nothing is said of the sort and he is clueless to the female's thoughts. It is better this way, for there are times when more information does not do him well. Another harsh lesson learned too closely to now. Much of this had been sudden, even though he had the hints stirring within his mind for weeks. That did not matter when the revelation itself was so raw and stinging. Riot was still suffering from massive emotional whiplash of the situation, and probably would be for some time.
Yet he had a reasonable insight to it as well, in how he would use his connections to sway attacks from Iromar and those within it, if he could. He would keep going as he was, because even with the crushed hopes of what could have been for the future, Riot must rise above it and go on. There was no other direction in which to go, though he was aware that things might change. That his views and feelings may change if prior convictions of others were diminished by actions done afterwards. Riot would not be led on by falsehoods, that would not settle well with him. But this soothed his mind away from such thoughts. It gave him something else to think about, his job that he put so much weight on. The words that the female gives in response to his first ones do not gain any response for he sees no reason in it. Arguing basic things was not practical when there was information to possibly be gleaned here. So it was to the other words that hold his interest. She knew something, as did he, and she was playing hard to get. "Most of any revenge plans, if ever there was any, could be completed with the information already had.
