She comes to me lost and homeless and look at her now. Heartless has rosen up in the ranks with one little gift at our doorstep. Some may find it not so hard a task to give someone unknown to us such a large leap of a reward but to me, Covet is the icing on the cake right now. He's one of our biggest threats and I'm sure he's somehow responsible for the attack on Aviias. Even if it wasn't orchastrated by himself or even something asked from him, I'm sure the hate he has been spreading about our family has at least jump started all the drama going on in Moladian as it centers around Angels. We have always had our names on someone's lips but never like this, never with such tension. With his lies and misled accusations, he had endangered the innocent and that is unforgivable. Trying for my father's life wasn't enough, I guess. Now he has to target anyone who knows an Angel.

But Heartless may be a stranger, but I hope she won't stay one for long. It would be a mistake to say I don't consider her a threat because she's blind or anything like that. I don't know one hundred percent if she is blind and I almost feel it might be rude to ask but I do know by the way she was walking up to the meeting that she certainly doesn't have 20-20 vision. She also looked lost, like she was looking for someone and it makes me think someone was supposed to be coming here with her. A mate perhaps or a sibling? A close friend to guide her? And yet they are not here yet. I wonder if that's a coincidence or a bad thing. Surely they wouldn't have abandoned her. But she has already proven something to me. Though she may not even know Covet or what any of this is about, she still stepped up and straight up stole him from the free lands as a gift to me. I do love gifts.

I guess that's one of the many perks of being an alpha. Everyone wants to please you and impress you. I like these perks very much. Heyel certainly knew what he was talking about. He taught me to smile and make the wolves of my pack feel welcome and cherished. I hope I can live up to that word as time goes on. I can only hope I have proven something in my first pack meeting. That blood is not the only thing that holds a pack together. Though most of us might be related, we do not judge others by whose blood runs through their veins. Heartless is an unknown to me and my pack. She is not descended from Heyel and yet I gift her with a rank and welcome her to Diveen like an old friend. Why shouldn't I? And yet we are supposed to be hateful creatures who look down upon others who look different than us. Covet is wrong to think family is just the DNA in your blood. We already proved him wrong when he let Ambrosia take the crown. I guess he thought any Angel would do even though his first call out to everyone that could hear stated he didn't want Angel blood to be any part of it. And yet he made an exception for Ambrosia.

But wolves didn't return under her rule. They knew the rightful heir as chosen by Heyel himself is the only wolf who should be over Diveen if not my parents. They knew it was my turn, never hers. If she had wanted any other pack or even Diveen under different circumstances, I'm sure the results would have been different. They would have been proud of her to take such initiative. But to take it as a gift from the wolf who tried to kill her own uncle and barred the borders from her cousin and brother....I just wish I knew what was going through her pretty little head. But in time, I hope to. When she shows her face again in Moladian, I hope to have answers finally. Until then, I'll worry about the main problem in Moladian. The trial will be starting soon but when I hear the voice that I'm already starting to recognize, I smile and lope eagerly toward the tree to meet up with her. She seemed so hesitant at the meeting but I hope with a quieter setting, she'll be able to tell me a little more about herself.

I can just make her out under a large redwood in the middle of the pack, not too far from the rock formation where the trial will be held. I wag my tail even as I slow down on approach, making sure to make my steps loud enough so she'll hear my approach. "It's good to see you again, Heartless. I hope you like your reward." I say with a knowing smirk.
