News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

"Your name shall be carved into legend once my Sword has carved into your chest." ~Song Of Achilles

I know a lot of wolves are still grieving over the loss of Heyel. He was a great wolf and an amazing friend and role model to so many. His children are probably still stricken, my mother as proof of that. Of course Uncle Azrael looked okay at the pack meeting; maybe a little more surly than usual but pretty normal besides that. He might just be good at hiding his emotions though. You have to be pretty decent at that to be an assassin. I bet a lot of wolves want revenge too for his death. I know I could give them that but I don't know. Somehow that just doesn't seem like what Heyel would do. Would he really want them after Solaris? I'm sure he'd want someone to do something to get his vengeance but if I tell, the whole of Moladian will trample Solaris until there's nothing left. Am I just protecting my brother?

I want to say it's deeper than blood by this point. I watched him fight Heyel and kill him and I know that's the way Heyel would have gone down. But he didn't want that. I know that much. But I'm going to bide my time and wait for the opportunity. I think that's what Heyel would want me to do. He would want me to learn from what I saw and wait until the right time to hit Solaris where it hurts. I'm going to get vengeance for Heyel but I'm going to do it my way. At least wolves are starting to come back into Diveen. There's hope in that. I'm sure I'm not the number one choice on some wolves' minds for the alpha but I was hand picked by my parents and Heyel. I was prepared to take the throne from day one and I trained tirelessly with Heyel to make sure I would be ready when the time came. I was willing to fight my own cousin to regain my throne. Covet thought of that as a peace offering but it was more a death sentence to the angel blood line as we know it.

If anything, I might have saved Ambrosia some dignity in what I did. She made the deal with Covet so maybe she'll still go through with it and breed with whoever he wanted her to but then again maybe since she's no longer on the throne, he won't hold her to it and she can back out now and return to her family where she belongs. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I know I will never be as great as Heyel was but I want them to see him in everything I do, every decision I make. He was my number one role model, even over my own father. He was a great king and that's what I want to work toward being. While a lot of wolves have returned, I know there's still a lot more out there somewhere in Moladian. Maybe they found what they were looking for elsewhere or maybe they just don't think of Diveen as a home anymore and that's okay. They will always be welcome here and they know who they are.

When I hear someone coming, I look up, letting out a breath of relief to see Neveah. She seems to have something on her shoulder and when I catch a whiff of herbs, I wrinkle my nose but nod to her in greeting. I've never really liked the smell of herbs much. I used to watch Meryl collecting plants when I was little but I never could figure out the charm of doing that. I guess that's why I never became a healer. I scowl at her first words. Mess? "Well excuse me for not being a neat freak while trying to save someone's life." I say bitterly, not even trying to hide my sarcasm. I snort at her next remark and look at my handiwork. "Well actually, you give me too much credit there. No one taught me, so there. I'm pretty sure she would die of blood loss before infection sets in." Okay so I don't like being talked to like a child. She may know more about healing but at least I know enough about wounds that you can't get infected in seconds. It takes at least a day or two and someone bleeding profusely would die of blood loss way before then.

I don't like the way she huffs at me either. I know we're around the same age but I don't think anyone really has a reason to dislike me. I won back our home after all. I brought the angels back to Diveen and I put Covet back in his place, as our prisoner. If anything, they should be grateful. I take a seat to watch as she applies some gooey stuff to the wounds. It smells funny but as long as it works. Then she puts more moss there and looks back at me. I scowl again. "Or you can teach someone else how to do it. Not that I'm volunteering." I look at the herb bag again in distaste. I could never take over healing as a skill. It's just not for me. Luckily I'm saved from more distractions when I hear Guardian's voice and then his big pounding feet. I smirk and prick my ears toward his sprinting form. I can tell he's really booking it and I want to say it's because he heard my call. Guardian has always been prudent about coming to my beck and call. He's definitely earned his right as my guard.

I can tell he smells the blood when his face contorts into great concern which turns to anger and as he pulls up beside us, he looks every bit the royal guard that he is. I grin, proud in this moment to call him my own personal body guard. Then he turns his attention to the injured girl and I will admit to a twinge of jealousy to have him not so worried about me anymore. Sure, nothing may be wrong with me but did he even ask? My ears flick back but I answer as non-grumpily as I can. "Looks like she got attacked to me." Okay, so it was a little on the sulky side. I shift my weight awkwardly as he lowers his nose to press it into her cheek. He asks Neveah next is she's going to be okay and I find myself raising a brow at her. If she does, it has to be thanks to me. I stopped the bleeding, after all. When Guardian sits next to me, suddenly all is right with the world again and I find myself able to forgive his little slight with giving attention to Aviias.

He turns to me and tells me she hugged him and I raise a brow, my lips twitching in a smirk. "Is that right? Yep, she must like you then. When's the wedding?" I'm allowed to tease my best friend, especially once we find out she's going to be okay. I notice that the girl's ears have steadily been twitching as we mill about her and talk. That must mean she can hear us. I feel special to have been the first wolf to reassure her then. I bet I have a good bedside manner, the best. She doesn't make a sound though until Guardian arrives. What's so special about his voice? Does she have a thing for accents or something? She finally says his name and my ears prick forward, my shoulder nudging his as if he didn't hear her. Her next words draw my full attention though, rising to my feet as I step closer and lower my head. "Did you get a name or a good description? Feel free to nod or shake your head if you don't want to talk." Her next words are for Guardian and I turn my head to look at him, nudging my head to tell him to say something, reassure her. How else would he know what to do if he didn't have me to coach him?
