The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Raptor had been waiting, sniffing about on the edges of the grotto rather than roam through the tunnels. It was far enough from the woodlands that she wasn't impressed with the area, and yet Lex had gone in to look around and Raptor would not be too far from her mother's side. Close enough for calling distance, at least. Time was ticking by, and Raptor was beginning to grow bored with poking about at the edge of the craigs. It wasn't her forte, either of these places, and she was more than ready to return back to the woodlands, or at least the fields if not within the trees.

Mostly, these two places -- grotto and craigs -- were her least favorite places. And the waiting with nothing to do was getting on her nerves. Enough that she wanted to go into the grotto -- where she was hearing a bunch of wierd vocal noises from -- and bring her mother back out so they could continue on from here. The thought had Raptor pacing back and forth for a little while, glancing around and pausing to sniff the breeze, huff and pace again. On the rocks she could hear the clicking of her nails, and it was starting to give her a headache. This was not going to cut it.

With a sigh and a rumble within her throat, Raptor finally paced into the grotto, bent on finding her mother and getting Lex out of the area so they could go find a resting spot for the night. Or hunt. Anything but hang around here right now, at least. Of course it was quite a sight that greeting her slitted gaze when she found the gathering, and somewhere at the edge of it, her mother. The centerpiece seemed to be a very mangled looking wolf, but Raptor couldn't get caught up in all of this. She made a beeline for Lex and shoved her snout to her mother's neck, trying to pry her away and out of the grotto.
