Tithe
To take what I'm owed.
Pay me my dues.
Tithe waited for others to come to them, as he assumed they would. His dark eyes looked around the land he had found himself in and breathed in the scents. There was a substantial pack here, he could feel it. Tobias’ presence overpowered the area and he could feel that the wolf was not only the alpha, but the possessor of the pack. He did not understand the actions of the other wolf, having moved and acted only in response and reaction to what had been done toward him. From their first meeting he had been nothing but off balance around the other black wolf. But his desire to understand and be a part of something brought him to this point.
Another presence approached. Tithe’s attention flicked to the female and dark eyes studied her as well. She moved and spoke with poise and power. It was clear to the young wolf that he was meeting the Alphess of this pack. Between the two black beasts before him he could feel a bond and a connection. She could read the madness of the male, and he claimed her as one of his, like he seemed to claim everything.
Drawing into himself, Tithe smothered his feelings and bowed his head respectfully to the female. ”Lady of Asteraia.” He greeted his kind tones clear and steady, betraying nothing of the uncertainty he felt in his body and soul. For a moment he hesitated. ”My name is Tithe.””
Both of the others spoke, his gaze returned to study Tobias, his heart sinking and confusion clouding his mind for a moment. He looked back at the lady who seemed to understand the madness of Tobias. ”What does he mean? ‘Keep’?” Not stupid, he thought he had an idea what the other wolf wanted. Possibly to become a part of what appeared to be Tobias’ collection. What he really wanted to know was if he had made a mistake in following the path he had.
