The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

I don’t really know why I bothered to walk all the way up here tonight. I needed to get away, clear my head I suppose, my paws carrying me towards the Assassin Cave we had all held our meeting in that night so long ago when we’d agree to do what we had already begun to do. I frowned in the darkness, considering so much more of what had to happen. I would send Orfiel to Asteraia I think, I would go to Iromar myself, maybe Calliel to Glorall, Achilles to Spirane and that only left Taviora, another trip for myself I suppose, though the forest wolves have long been friends to Angels so I held little doubt in that. I heard Zaphkiel had fathered a litter there and they would be the target of my idea I think. Young, impressionable and yet the way of the future, a new generation of Angels and I liked that. I needed that. I needed to revolutionise an entire culture essentially and that….really isn’t all that easy- but I was going to try. The scent of blood saw my form of silver and white paws, violet eyes turned upwards now and away from the earth, searching for an injured animal of sorts before dismissing it. Someone had made a kill I suppose and I had no real interest in removing it from them, my young form turned away once more to return to the thoughts that moved like wrecking balls in my brain. With Covet imprisoned in Diveen there was little to worry about there, but what of this Zeus fellow? He was old I suppose, maybe he would conveniently just die in the next year or so and our problems would be removed wholly.

I think I managed a simper at that, devastatingly handsome features curved upward in this touch of amusement as I loped onwards- only to smell that blood once more. It was almost overpowering really, my form halting again, red ears pricked forward in what I suppose is curiosity as I turned towards a cave of sorts, bloodied paw prints decorating the ground outside it as I frowned. Well that was odd. Either someone was bleeding to death in there or they were an exceptionally messy eater. Why I even bothered I don’t truly know, curiosity I suppose. I always was a rather curious fellow. I wandered forward, searching for the wolf that had- well essentially exploded all over the walls of this place, else exploded a deer in the same fashion, eyes narrowed as I wander deeper and deeper into the space.

“Well this is unhygienic.”

Well it was. I sat myself then and there, unwilling to go much further (I’m not a fool) and yet curious all the same, searching up and down for, well, someone, anyone….the wolf who did this rather fetching artwork can’t be all that far now can they?

“Hello?”
