Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Raptor sits still as a statue, focused on the wind blowing through the trees, an empty moaning noise accompanying it. This sitting still, thinking, is a new feeling. It seemed to start after that male had approached, threatened. She still thought about him. It was odd. They had left, together, that day. But now the large brown female was alone. And she felt lonely. Though she had her independence it hurt she did not know what had happened to her mother. She howls her disappointment and fears to the night, looking at the guiding stars, wondering if Lex had followed them home to her final resting place among the stars.

She almost wishes to see that male again, not sure if it is to have a punching bag on which to release her frustrations or a shoulder to cry on. Someone, anyone. The wind became silent, as if sensing her mournful mood. Her tail twitches, willing time to move faster, the boredom is killing her. Her light lavender eyes gaze up to the moon, wishing for an answer. After a few minutes she impatiently turns and trots away towards the river bank. Perhaps fish will be her breakfast. She is getting a bit tired of the small game she can catch by herself, and wonders on where to find like company that can help her bring down the bigger game.
