The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Yeesh, even your 'shitty' writing impresses me! I would not call it shitty and as for short- everyone has short posts when our minds run out of things to plop on paper. Keep it up!

The care and concern on the doe's face was charming, if to, extremely sweet, but the creature stirring inside her had provoked another darker side and she fought to control it- the unpredictable rage and the hormonal in-balances were peaking this week and Scarlet knew she was running out of time. When Kobato asked is she was okay, Nights burst out laughing, allowing her frame to lower itself and snuggle closer to Kobato. She laughed so hard her belly began to hurt. Through the small snippets of breathing and not laughing, she answered Kobato's query.

No Kobato, very soon I will look like a whale and be much worse tempered.

She cringed and again a dull thud hit her right in the lower back. Oh god, now I know why they kept nightshade growing in our pack lands abundantly. Demonican females were often pregnant, but pups were not allowed typically- they posed vulnerability in a pack and only the alpha male was allowed to procreate and he took his sweet time in selecting his mistresses. It felt strange to be breaking tradition, but it also felt good- like a reminder she wasn't held down by the brand that she wore for an eternity. Sure, she still was a bloodthirsty killer, a daemon, a nightmare from hell itself, but she had learned to live with it. She just wasn't sure that this next part would be what she wanted it to be. Another thud in her abdomen and she groan,d wincing again- surely it wasn't normal, this amount of pain- not unless...Oh god.

...Kobato.

Scarlet pupils dilated, shrinking from black voids to pin pricks.

You aren't a healer by chance, are you?

Another thud, stronger this time. It didn't feel right, nothing felt right. Scarlet curled into herself and a rumble of a growl echoed through her chest, the thuds stopped, Scarlet looked at her abdomen again and smirked. That's right, you be still...still and quiet. Scarlet looked at Kobato and flattened her ears in a smite of humiliation.

False alarm.

The scenario had crossed her minds more than once and since Scarlet knew no friends within these walls, she would have to make some- and fast. Nothing she had ever known had made her feel excited and fearful- except maybe battle, a proper battle. Hours of torment and progress, the ground slippery with blood, dead wolves, wolves she knew and wolves she didn't. She felt like this particular battle had been taking forever. No doubt hormones would take over at some point, but right now she just felt a mixture of depressed and dejected. She enjoyed the slight warmth provided by Kobato and yawned, sleepily speaking before resting her maw on her paws.

Thank you Kobato, your a good friend.
