PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

you came along and you cut me loose

What is going on here?” the mature voice cut through the night. Inka had arrived from behind Geirdriful, and now towered over the group, black hide gleaming almost blue in the moonlight, with a dismayed expression on her face.

She had woken in the sheltered glade that she and her daughters slumbered in to find Adelheid gone. Jetta, uncharacteristically, was sound asleep with her white chin resting on the dark earth. Once her year-and-a-half-year-old daughter had been the main source of her ire and frustration, wandering off without warning at any and all hours of the day, but since Adelheid’s birth the girl had begun displaying a greater level of stability and maturity, prefering to linger in her family’s company and spend time with her baby sister.

Inka had cursed her luck at the fact Adelheid was now beginning to show the same fiercely independent inclinations that Jetta had, and had stumbled sleepily through the trees, creating something of a racket as she’d followed the slope of the land upwards to where she knew Adelheid was likely to be. No doubt she is with Taika, the Friesian mare thought to herself, and made a mental note to have a word with Taytim about their daughters’ behavior.

It was the screams that had drawn her head upward into its full height and that stirred life into her limbs. All at once she was more awake than she had ever been, and her heart pounded with dread for the safety of her daughter as she scurried up the cliffs that fringed the low hills at the peak’s base.

Now she stood, somewhat out of breath and dark eyes wide with bewilderment as she took in the scene. The tang of blood was in the air, though it was too dark to locate the source immediately, but thankfully every equine was on their feet, and though tensions were obviously high, no one appeared to be seriously injured. After noting that young Geidriful was doing little to help de-escalate the situation (though she was thankful the mare seemed to be protecting the fillies from the intruders), Inka stepped closer to her daughter and nudged the girl to reassure herself that Adelheid was safe.

Then she looked down on the two stallions and demanded, “Who are you?”
