Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Question 1: Where did they build Hadrian’s Wall?

The birthing season always brought with it a new set of challenges amongst us, the healing kind and yet I had well prepared my den for such things. There was little amongst the labour ward I had failed to see before and as such I held a decent amount of confidence in my preparedness for whatever the births of Glorall would cast upon me. Even if I had failed to be confident I would hardly have displayed it. An assured bedside manner is required to instil trust in my patients and as such I aimed to provide it. The first of the births for that year begun within the middle of the night, my ears alerted to such cries though only simply because I happened to be so close by this time. All the same my little deerskin bag was packed, my ashen form and pristine white underside pacing from my place within Glorall towards the sounds and scents of birth- though I saw no need to interrupt as of yet, waiting until I heard the mewling cries of newborn pups before I made my presence known. Choosing instead to wait outside with the male I can only assume is the mate- head nodded in greeting. If it was not obvious who I was then truly the male would be of a small mind. My bag generally gave away my position after all. Si I waited, silently. Unless a Mother appears in great distress after all, I have no desire to interrupt the birthing process…let alone actually see it. Really it is not my…pleasure in life to witness such things. When the pups cried and peace had seemingly returned to the birthing space of this den I moved to peer within, shifting sideways to allow the mate to move or do as he pleased, my own form, though a towering, muscular thing far more designed to warrior then healer- remained neutral in this moment, offering no need for either parent to find disdain in my presence as the violet and orange of my gaze fell upon….Natu, a wolf I knew from the funeral. Soul of Heyel. Oh my.

“Lady Natu- I am Hadrian, son of Isola and Kane and grandson of your soul Heyel, the healer now in Glorall. Your birthing seems to have progressed without issue, do you require anything of me? If not I will leave you in peace as I disagree with interrupting anything unless I must. If you have question or concerns though, feel free to ask, you were keeper of the soul of the Great Heyel, my family….holds a place of great respect and esteem for you and on behalf of all Angels we congratulate the birth of your…..”

I paused, head craning slightly to examine the children a little better.

“Son and daughter.”

I smiled then, a lopsided, crooked thing flashed in the dark before stepping back. Either she required assistance or she did not. To my eye it would seem that nature had taken its course well here and there was truly little need for my assistance. As I said, I don’t meddle unless I need to.

That’s easy;
around Hadrian’s Garden.
