The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Zelda

She could hardly contain her excitement! It was so interesting to be at the place where her mother and father had met, there were other places she wanted to go to as well but she knew right now it might be impossible. Hyrule said he would take her though, he promised her in fact, that he would be escorting her to the other land to which she held blood too and that was Asteraia. She wanted to go there, she loved the forest very much but she wanted to see the plains to which her grandparents on her father’s side had owned and her father was heir too. Her uncle and her mother had told her no. The wolves there had attacked the pack before they had their own and her uncle didn’t yet have plans to work things out. She guessed she understood… after all they had hurt her uncle Dexter and one of the members, but maybe it was a misunderstanding? Zelda wanted to see for herself if the darkness had completely taken them over, but Hyrule made it sound different. She had to wonder about it but she didn’t argue, instead she had cooked up the plan for her and Hyrule to go visit. He had been there before a few times even and that would be their next adventure together soon enough!

For now though she was exploring the very beginning of her parents’ history. She stopped when she heard Mikken reply to her. Slowing her pace slightly so she wouldn’t give the wolf who so kindly taken her a hard time. She was happy he came after all, and while she figured she could have done the trip on her own it was nice to have Mikken here to guide and help her. She was still very small and some ledges were too high for her to climb up easily having Mikken here to help was wonderful. ”Yes, I want to explore and see lots of new things that’s always fun!” She replied cheerily she really liked Mikken for his very kind quiddity, and his odd way of talking. IT was like her grandfather’s really thick accent but different too!

Her tail waved lightly as she bounded farther in to the grotto pondering for a moment on the details her mother had given her about their meeting. She really couldn’t recall any right now, all she really knew was it was here and they found a pool of water they had swam in. Her mother said it was the clearest pool of water she had seen and there were only a few other creatures in it but that was it, and based on what Mikken was saying it wouldn’t be easy to find.

”Oh.” She said a little disheartened by the news that they might not fight the exact place, but it was alright! It was still an adventure. ”Nantli only said that there was a pool of water nearby, they swam in it for fun. If this place is that big there could be lots of them, but that’s okay we can make our own adventure! Right, Mister Mikken?” She tried to stay on the bright side of things, if they found it that would make her happy but if not she was certain she would still enjoy the time Mikken took out of his day to spend with her.

He said they could make a game out of it and with that she spun on her paws to face him her tail still waving happily and watching him as if she was hanging on his every word, and she pretty much was. Her tail continued waving while he started saying they could get confused so she needed to leave a trail to follow. ”Walking isn’t enough, what other tricks are there if you want to make it stronger?” She didn’t think much about hunting yet. Yes by a year old she was trying to hunt on her own when she could, but she was still very small so tracking wasn’t her strong point yet.
