I stare at her as she nods to my question of asking if she had a name. She then whines after the nod. I find my yellow eyes following the nod, to the point that my head bobs along with hers. I then give to copy her whine, my mind absorbing what she is saying to me. Yes, she is saying that this is her name. It is this noise. I can almost hear her words whispering in my ear that this is the truth- or is that Ruby? Sometimes I get it all confused, which causes my head to shake roughly to get my head to clear.
It appears she hears the voices too, with her nod of affirmation. I just forced one out of my own, but I know it is only for a small moment. I grin at her with my bright teeth against my shadowed pelt. I wonder if she hears the same voices I do, the same commands of Obsidian and Ruby. Yet, before I can inquire about this to her, my body tightens as my ears whirl around. My body shifts, leaping to the side of the other woman and I whine back to her as I stare into the direction she stares into.
She moves forward to where we look. I feel my black fur ruffling slightly. My head turns with overwhelming thoughts once more, with Ruby and Obsidian laughing at her insolence and deserved coming, how I can easily steal her soul, and yet I growl in reaction. Two bull elk tumble out of trees and towards her.
I cannot stop my inky black form from racing forward like a vicious shadow. I go into a frenzy of growls and snarls at the two large creatures, my golden yellow eyes frantic, almost like a demon took over my body as I snap at one of their front legs. Saliva flings from my mouth as I dodge a kick from one of them. They continue to fight among themselves as I take a few steps back, my ears pinned against my head as my form stands ready in an attack position. I whine and call to her.
"You see, they are so taken, they do not even think! Their blood, their blood must be ours!" I say, almost muttering to myself. I take another step back, seeing the other go away from the two. There is a voice inside myself, a quite one that agrees with the woman's decision, and that is what causes me to turn my head to look at her.
"Where are you going?" I ask, as the head of an elk begins to swing, right in my unknowing direction. |
