Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Dance to a Faerie's Fiddle

Taytim

Taika seemed confused by what El Aran said to her. She had not yet been exposed to the idea of moving from one life to the next, nor of ‘fallen’. Chocolate eyes looked back into the sky as if she would have seen the stars come out to the with the sun. Her smile fell a little while she tried to muddle through the concept the other mare had laid before her.

How could they be fallen when they are above us? She asked innocently. What about the rest of them? That innocent face looked back up at the sky in excitement. She remembered the ones that twinkled, the ones that shined brighter than others, and some that seemed to move across the horizon more than others. Ears perked in interest at this mystery. They must also be spirits! Those not bound to the earth as we are! She danced around the adults, tossing her head in excitement. This was obviously the answer! Just like the faeries of the earth and water make the rains come and the leaves change, the spirits of the stars keep the gods of the night company. She stopped for a moment and smiled at El Aran. They keep watch over us while we sleep! Once more she pranced away, always fascinated by this ledge where she had started her adventure of life.

Taytim sighed after her child before her attention went back to El Aran. Never had she dreamed she would have been standing on a mountain with someone like this woman while her daughter froliced around them. Life, it seemed, would always take interesting turns. The happiness she felt at the desert mare’s words warmed her heart. The life the other mare had lived gave her a sense of instant respect. All Taytim had lived and met so far could not dream, or nightmare, of what she felt was reality to her companion. Her easy smile was in her eyes as she reached her nose out to her friend.

El Aran, I believe there will always be room for you. A soft challenge was issued behind them, and Taytim shifted to watch Taika flailing her hooves at an invisible entity. And if there wasn’t, I think Taika would make room. You would be welcomed here.
