I listen carefully as Nakato explains to me what a Frankenstein is. She doesn't seem too excited about the name of the rank herself but she knows that a healer is what she wants to be. I wrinkle up my nose. "That means playing with plants and stuff right? What's so exciting about that?" I'm not trying to offend her or anything; I'm genuinely curious about why someone would be interested in being a healer. I've never seen the appeal of knowing how to mend wounds since my parents are too proud to allow anyone to heal their wounds. Eric has always said if you can't heal on your own then it's survival of the fittest and perhaps its best that you don't live. I guess I do have some learning to do when it comes to pack ranks. I guess I shouldn't be so forward but I couldn't help my expression when I saw her tail, or lack there of. She doesn't seem hindered by it at all but doesn't a tail give you balance? Does that mean she's naturally more clumsy than the average wolf? She stops wagging though the minute I notice and I wonder if I've hit a nerve. She gives me the benefit of the doubt though, explaining what happened and I find myself actually feeling bad that she didn't even get the choice. It's not like she lost her tail in a fight or something that maybe she could have prevented. Instead she lost it before she even had a tail. It's almost sad but my parents aren't really advocators of pity. I shrug after a few seconds. "Well at least you didn't have to get used to not having one. It just came naturally, I'm guessing. I bet you're still fast." I smirk a little slyly, offering a more playful smile. When I try to explain that I wouldn't eat the bird or any kind of prey animal, it takes her a moment to understand but I know it the moment she does because her expression can't hide her surprise. I'm sure the alpha explained to her about the other wolves of Asteraia. Why wouldn't she? Most of us are killers in one form or another after all. I guess I'll find out soon enough if she's going to judge me for it or just shrug it off as something we just don't have in common. I wouldn't try to force it on her or anything. That would mean having to share more of my meals, after all. She speaks back softly, telling me that she understands and that she doesn't eat wolf meat but that she can see why I wouldn't like bird meat. I smirk again. "A little too stringy for my taste." I offer with another wrinkled nose expression as I glance at the bird again. I tilt my head as she explains that she's not special, just another pack member and how she thinks the alpha would have acted if she had been killed. I scowl and shake my head. "You don't think she would seek revenge for your death or something first? I'm sure it's not just that easy to find another wolf who likes to play with plants." Again, I don't say it like this to offend her or anything. I just don't understand the whole healing thing. She doesn't seem to have one arrogant bone in her body. But surely she must be at least confident or she wouldn't be as outgoing in her speech as she is. I find myself only growing more curious of Nakato. I grin proudly at her compliment, not at all afraid to show my own arrogance. "I do consider myself quite stealthy. I've been hunting wolves for a year now. I think I'm quite good at it, the younger ones anyway. I'm still not skilled enough to take on a mature wolf like my parents can." I say with a scowl as I glance at my paws.
