News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

i am the blood of the mountain
The suggestion I made was met with a blank and placid stare, and as the silence once more grew between us a gut instinct rooted deep within me told me that hunting was not the path for the girl. My own bodice, heavy with impregnation, lifted to stand upon four feet when the girl rose as easily as though the pups did not tussle within my abdomen. Rather than counter my offer, she glowered at me and admitted that she did not think there was a place for her in Spirane. I would not argue such a thing with her, for if after all the time she had spent here she did not feel at home, there was little tasks or assignments could do to alleviate such a problem. It was not something I would hold against Despoina - sometimes the terrain of the mountain just did not feel right beneath one's paws, or the wolves that surrounded one simply did not elicit the feeling of pack within one's heart. Far be it from me to judge a wolf for wanting to find, as Despoina had put it, a place for herself. Instead, I simply nodded in acknowledgement of her statement. Perhaps it was all for the best. Deep down something about this girl did not feel quite right to me, and maybe she was as ill fit for Spirane as she felt Spirane was for her.

When teeth were bared once more towards me, I did not react in surprise. This time, my hackles bristled to their full menacing span and my lips pulled back to expose fangs that were experienced in the art of battle. This was done in utter silence, and no malice was shown towards the girl, but would not be continually disrespected in such a way. Despoina spoke of her sister once more, and as her features calmed so too did mine. There was still the barest signs of fur that dared to spike up in dominance once more, but the glistening white of my fangs were sheathed by calm lips. Finally, something other than anger broke through the girl's features - but it was still a troubled adolescent who looked up at me. It was with the tiniest shred of worry that she finally deigned to ask me something rather than demand it of me. She requested that she be allowed to still visit Myra if she were to leave Spirane permanently.

Nostrils flared as hard mahogany eyes gazed upon the distressed face of Despoina. "One who was once pack will always be considered pack, even if Spirane is no longer their home. When you visit alone, you must announce yourself before entering the pack lands, so that I am aware of your presence. If ever you feel the need to bring another with you, you must wait upon the borders for myself or another pack member." These words were spoken firmly, though with patience. I looked upon her with resolve, knowing that by spring she would probably be gone from these lands forever. Where would she go? Perhaps one of our allies could benefit from the addition of Despoina to their ranks, somewhere she might be able to find a place for herself. From the start I knew that Taviora would not suit, and I doubted Diveen would either. Eden and I had not yet solidified our relations, though I thought perhaps Glorall might suit her. Despite my first suggestion clearly being off the mark, I could not help but leave her with one last idea. "Our allies to the south, Iromar, sport a varying array of ranks that differ greatly from those found within Spirane. Perhaps it is Empress Aithne that you should seek out." I stood stoically before the girl, watching her closely. She had come to me this day, and while the winter afternoon waned, I thought that perhaps I would return to relaxing upon the ledge if Despoina had said all that she'd come to say.

ooc - no worries! this has been a great thread, I really enjoyed it. c: its actually been good development for dany as a leader too. <3 i figure if you'd like you can finish it off in your next post, or we can leave it at that. ^_^
