Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

to say sorry, doesn't hurt as much as saying goodbye...

Dead memories of a Legend
Chapter IV Armageddon

Amir is growing worried. The months could never be longer with the constant wait for something to be done or to happen. It’s like waiting for a miracle. I know Amir. Perhaps now more than ever before. He is kind of heart and seems to be very weak when it comes to his feelings. But a wolf who messes with him or the ones he cares about may get into serious trouble. Zeus is different though. He’s got the only thing he craves so much for. He wishes to know himself. Before me, Amir had a father. A family. He wants to know who he is. He’s got Devil. He tries to convince me to track Devil again just so he could talk, hang out with him and it is painful to say no. He says it is alright, but I know it is not. He is lonely and I am trying my best everyday to make that feeling go away.

I’m doing this today mostly for Amir than anything. The pack means everything to me and I will always be thankful to the angels, of course. But Amir is a different case. He is the proof that a wolf can change. With him nothing is impossible when you really try. That is how he makes me feel. As if it wasn’t enough, he helped me grow. Ska is closer to me. She likes how I changed and who I became.

Thanks to Amir. And Diveen. I feel this today. My head is raised high in full attention and my tail low. Eyes observing every step of the way as we walked. The sense of mystery in my body as I advance slowly towards the river. The water was less than fifty meters away as I looked around, observing the grass, plants, the soil, fallen leaves. All was important.

- Zeus… It is really him. - I assured.

My eyes never leaving the place scene as I observed.

- He comes here a lot. Right in this spot. His trail is scattered all over the fields back and forth, he never used the same path.

They could guess what this meant. I waited, hoping for them to continue the line of thought.

-… But this spot right here is where all his trails met. It is one of the quickest ways to the Grotto. Coincidence? I think not.

I told them, approaching the shallow water.

- There is something missing here. - I gestured towards a couple of mushrooms by the water - Mushrooms don’t grow in couples… They can be eaten. But would cause hallucination. Plus, can be addictive. But more than one a day, perhaps two and you’re dead. I’ve seen wolves addicted to those, it is horrible. Zeus took mushrooms with him and a lot of them.

My form turned towards them. The sun already low.

- He is surely at the Grotto. On the other side of the river, his trail is towards the forest. If he wanted to go to the crags or the riverside he would follow the river and not get into the forest. But what should we do now?

I asked them. We could try and go for the capture. But we already have the information.
