It was not that she was lurking in the caves of Moladion, it was more that she was simply looking. Steel blue, shrewd eyes studied the world that she had brought herself to. After years of angst and anger, the young wolf finally felt like she was once again in control of her life. The moment she had decided to leave the mountains and become a moor wolf it was as if she had felt the rocks themselves lift from her bulky shoulders. Though she had barely begun to be a part of her pack, she had already started to feel at home when the water squished through her paws.
It was difficult for the girl though, leaving the place she had shared for so long with her sister. She knew Myra could take care of herself. The deaf wolf had proven that time again. She also had an imprint at her side. There was no need for Despoina to linger, or hover some might have claimed. It had been well passed time for her to chose her own path. Which she did, almost with a vengeance. She had taken to Iromar like the giant lizards had, and it had freed her soul. Now she padded through the Grotto, if only to see what else the world had to offer her on this day.
Deep in the caves she padded to and fro, aimless in all but her thoughts. She now had a life of her own, it well-night laid at her feet. All she needed to do was grab it with her dark paws, and hold it firm with her fangs. As if it were her life itself, she had found a rock and grasped it in her paws. Her mouth watered with the taste of the control she felt over the choices she was making.
The sound of paws against the rocks made her look up. The brawler bristled and spun on the intruder, her fangs bared to their fullest. She stopped in the moment, resheathing her weapons at the sight of the young wolf. The pup had done nothing to deserve her wrath, she was an innocent; Despoina reminded herself. We will not attack the innocent. She looked again at the girl who had come bounding into her secluded cave. The white coat caught her attention and reminded her of her sister, though this female was clearly anything but.
Her eyes narrowed at the one only just younger than her. Though she felt her temper burning within her, there was a strange sense of cool trying to smother it. It confused her.
“Who are you?” She didn’t know or care if her voice was a growl.
