Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Return to Lunar Children
The smoke in the shadows

In this position, laying upon my belly and looking onto the world, I am able to convey the most of my strength simply through my posture and aura. I always had a demanding aura, one to be respected even as but a young pup. I know that I am not how I was after the birth. I know that the distance I can carry myself has shortened, but that is of no concern right now. I know my strength will return in time, and until them, I simply have to keep up the facade of my strength until I am completely in control anew.

I am given to think of my children these days, and the youth that I care for. How Ayal wished for their destruction- and I hardly blame her, but their fate is my own to control. The males of my last litter were...hardly anything to be particularly proud of. The females, however, were stunning creatures. I know that Anselm and Eden were worthy males, as Eden has risen high among the fangs.

And it is one born of Eden whose young head rears itself out of hiding and into the open. My copper eyes slowly edge towards his smaller form, facing him with my own sturdy visage that gives no tell on how I may or may not feel towards him. I know all of my grandchildren, even if they do not know that I have watched them from a distance. It is my duty to know all. I remember the face even if it has perhaps grown a bit since I last laid eyes on him. This one had a hard lesson to learn when he was tiny. I had to teach him what others had not yet. I am not afraid to teach the harsher lessons of this life.

His approach is not one of hesitation, but nor is he intrusive. He better remember the lesson I taught him early on. He gets close, but not too close, and my eyes burn deeply into his as he speaks with a voice slowly falling into maturity.

"Avia tua ego sum . Ego sum omnium," (I am your grandmother. I am all.) I say simply with my daringly dark yet sweetened voice. I watch as he tilts his head, pleasing words slipping from his fresh lips. Hell, I think I may even pull back a single side of my lip in a smirking grin. Finally, one who expresses some sort of understanding, even if it is just a small bit of it. I give him a solid nod in return with my dark face.

"Numquam foget." (Never forget) I state. I simply look at him for a moment, taking in a creation of mine that I have set forth into this world. He may not be directly from my womb, but he is of me, and without me, he would not have existed.

"Without me, your Avia, you would not exist. Come," I state, demanding at the end as my front legs and chest are open and ready for him to sit nice and close. It was a moment of many things. I will see what it is that drives him in these moments. Will be refuse? Will he hesitate? Will he come to me easily?
