I live very near the Granby line in Simsbury. I live in a new apt building which abuts brush, woods and a small natural pond. At 4:30 ish Tuesday my hound went crazy, by the open window in my bedroom. I went to see what he was alerting *to* and saw a VERY large, VERY glossy Black non domestic cat. It looked like a cougar or panther. I could see it very clearly, it was not yet twilight. To my eye it looked solid black in color. It had a VERY long tail, very long body and a typical cougar/panther type face and head. It was partially crouched and stalking something at the tree line. I watched it until it disappeared into the brush. I wish I'd grabbed my camera. I am VERY clear about what I saw however. This cat was bigger then my 70lb hound. Both longer and taller.I searched google images and pulled up a black mountain lion which looked just like the animal that I saw. Replies:
