Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

are the dead really silent?

My paws have kept me in the forest, their pure snow hues seeming to refuse to step out of the canopy shadows. Today I find this to be a blessing as the rain falls from the skies. Droplets hitting the dying leaves, flowing over the trees, whispering in the pines creates music to my ears. I lifted my head to the sky and let the pure water wash over my light features. This is the peace I crave. Rain sinks into my fur, clinging deem into my creamy undercoat before dropping away into the dirt. It washes away the soils both physical and otherwise from my pelt.

Something tugs at my consciousness, pulling me from the musical revery. Opening my burning eyes I look back to the ground and move. The trails are sodden, but it encourages a smile on my face. This is my favorite essence of being. A soft trickling distracts me from the path. Curious, excited even, I turn towards it, ever in amazed pleasure at how the world can change around me in a day. As a draw close, another note brushes against my senses. Even in the muted rainy world, the soft scent of another being enters my nose. Another creature, earthbound, is nearby. When I come to the clearing, the brook giggling before me, my breath is slightly taken away.

In the mists of a dream I cannot know for sure if I am still in the realm of the living or if the spirits have invited me to their dance. My tail wags slowly as I step forward, into this vision.

“This day is beautiful.” I breathe, my voice is soft, and far more airy than one would have expected of a creature my size. Indeed, it was as though I had stepped into a dream. Spirits that lingered in the shadows of the trees knew that I was still dancing in the world of the alive as I stepped forward more to greet her.
