The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

"Your name shall be carved into legend once my Sword has carved into your chest." ~Song Of Achilles

I know it's a risk to only take three wolves with me to go against Zeus but I've got to keep most of my strength back in Diveen if Daenery's wise words mean anything. Besides, my family has always been about strength if nothing else and battle runs in our blood. I know Solara and Calliel can handle themselves and Amir has been a warrior almost his whole life. He wasn't my dad's head warrior for no reason so I trust his fighting skills. I also trust him to get us to Zeus so I can keep my word to him and try to capture the fiend so he can get the information he needs. After that, Zeus will be properly disposed of.

I know this could be a trap and it would be a lie to say I'm not nervous. I would feel better with Guardian or even Hyrule's sarcastic self at my side but I left them behind for Vega's sake. She needs them more than I do. Instead I have my sisters to watch my back and I trust them completely. I stay on Amir's trail, aware that he is heading straight to the grotto where they said Zeus must be hiding out. I wonder if the other wolves he kidnapped will be here and if the rumors are true that he's got help. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Amir moves slower and is more cautious as we reach the caverns. I follow his cue, giving both females a look of caution as I crouch lower and make my feet move silently upon the stone floor. I want them to watch each other's backs but of course most importantly, watch mine. I can smell another wolf in here with us but I can't see or hear anything, not yet anyway. As Amir looks around, I follow his gaze, letting my eyes roam over every inch of the cavern, not wanting to be caught off guard.

When the rock is moved, I turn with Amir, eyes squinting as I try to make out a figure in the dark. When I see the large wolf come out of nowhere, I step forward and yell. "Amir, watch out!" But the wolf is already snapping at his neck. I cringe as the white wolf slams Amir into the wall of the cavern and a snarl bursts from my throat, signaling Calliel and Solara to attack. As Amir goes down, I ready myself to launch at Zeus, ready to defend my pack mate but Amir surprises me by attacking the white wolf's paw, taking Zeus to the ground beside him. Zeus is quick to get back to his feet though and I take observations of all his moves.

Zeus runs at Amir to slam his chest into Amir's and I snarl again. "Amir, we're with you!" I yell at him, encouraging him to keep fighting, reminding him that he's not alone in this. His pack is with him. "Herd him into a corner! Weaken but don't kill!" I yell instructions at Calliel and Solara, sure that they'll understand as I rush Zeus, coming at him from the right side as he stumbles back from colliding chests with Amir, snapping my powerful jaws at the point where his right shoulder meets his ribcage, aiming to puncture the skin and shake my head vigorously, ripping and tearing skin. If we can cripple Zeus and make moving around more painful for him, he'll be more likely to surrender and come quietly.
