aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

You May Be a Coward, but You’re Not Stupid

The plump young brute was once more plagued by nightmares as he slept. He always went to sleep curled up alongside his new mother, Magic. That was the only time he felt safe, when he was with her. Even though he had not known her long, he already trusted her more than he had ever trusted anyone, even his siblings and the female that had kept them alive after his birth mother died. Her name was Shae, and she was not as caring or as kind as Magic was. And she had abandoned him. Even though she explained why it needed to happen and that it was for some big game they were all playing, he still felt like he had been dropped off somewhere to fend for himself. But with Magic he somehow knew that she wouldn’t leave him, that she would always be there to protect him and keep him safe and make him feel loved and wanted. And that was all he wanted.

In his dream he was running, but he didn’t know what was chasing him. He just felt the all too familiar feeling of fear and terror and knew that if he didn’t keep running something awful would happen. And the fear of the unknown was enough to make him continue his flight through the trees of some unknown forest. Tarly’s uniquely colored gray and black form twitched and trembled in his sleep as he whimpered, unconsciously trying to curl deeper into Magic’s thick black coat. He woke himself up when he didn’t find her warm form in the darkness and realized he was alone in the den. For a moment the terror from his dream followed him and he was scared that she had left him on his own for good. The small brute shook his head, ears flopping to and fro as he tried to shake the sleepy feeling. His pale grey orbs looked towards the den’s entrance and saw sunlight coming in. Magic must have gone out for a walk or hunt or something that she usually did in the morning. Tarly often waited in the den for his mother to get back, but the fear that usually left him when he woke up was not going away. The brute whimpered to himself, wishing that Magic was with him right now. He didn’t think that he could wait for her to get back.

Tarly decided that he needed to go out and find Magic, or he felt like he would die of fright on his own in the den that felt like it was going to suffocate him if he didn’t get out. His black striped head hesitantly pushed out of the den, eyes blinking to adjust to the light. The young brujo was not yet a great tracker, but he had to try if he was going to find his mom. And so he began to follow Magic’s scent through the trees. At first it was easy. The scent was strong at the den and around it, but as he went through more and more trees it became fainter and mixed with other smells. Before he knew it, Tarly was lost. And being lost made things a lot scarier than they had been before. His small, but plump, frame began to tremble, turning around in circles trying to find out which way he had come from. And then before he knew what he was doing, he was running. Just like in the dream. Fear swam through him and he just wanted to be home. He was not paying attention to where he was going, and he came to a hill in the territory, tripping through the trees and then falling. He tumbled down the hill, hitting bushes and roots, falling through mud and dirt.

His gray frame was covered in dust, mud clinging to his sides when he finally stopped at the bottom of the hill. Tarly was panting and whimpering as he stood up, shaking slightly as he did so. When he went to go take a step he felt something pull at his hind limb. Something had gotten him. He cried out in fear and began to run again. Whatever had him was holding on as he ran and he could feel it gripping his paw, trying to slow him down and pull him back. He was too afraid to look at see that it was just some brambles from bush he had fallen, tangled in his fur and nothing more. He was too distracted by the fear to see where he was going and he burst through the trees, right into another being. Tarly fell to the ground, closing his grey eyes as he waited for whatever being he had ran into to get angry and hurt him. He refused to look, collapsed on the ground in a heap, panting and whimpering for his mother.

OOC: so the picture I have for him isn't working =( but he's all gray with a black stripe across his head just so you know how uniquely cute he is =)
