Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

She stayed in the water, the frigid swirling tide washing mud and swamp muck back to where it belonged. Although she hadn't disliked her time in the swamp, it had been out of necessity more than anything. It was easier to be alone than to be with others, when you were grieving. When you had lost everything you had ever known. But X was dealing with it now, and hoping that her father would be proud of what she had become. A small, wistful smile came across her face as she thought of the wolf who had raised her, who had shown her a purpose in life after the death of her real parents. And he had given her this name, X.

But the harsh, single-sound of her name didn't fit her anymore. She hadn't softened in the swamp, but she had changed. She realized that her father had never created anything for her, he had only taught her. It didn't seem right that he had taken her name and changed it to something else. Morrigan. That was the name that her parents had given her, her real parents, the ones who she had blamed for so long for leaving her when it hadn't been their fault. X had realized a lot of things in the swamp, especially that her parents had been killed by a group of rogues much like the ones that she had joined up with. It wasn't their fault.

And so that was what it would be, Morrigan, not X. The woman sat in the river still, breathing slowly, trying to get used to the name that she could come to define herself. Her ears flicked backwards and Morrigan turned just as the other wolf leaped into the water with a loud, happy bark, into the shallower water. With a smirk the deep russet wolf rose from the water, pelt dripping, and launched herself towards the other wolf, aiming a playful nip at the side of her neck before dancing away, white paws splashing in the shallow water.

Morrigan could be the wolf who was not adverse to play. It was a startling feeling, to feel young again, but the tear-marked creature found that she enjoyed it. She stood with a twinkle in her white-ringed eyes, body poised in preparation for the retaliation of her new playmate, tail twitching just slightly in a display of excitement and pleasure.

Morrigan
