Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

After her encounter with him, she'd hardly expected to think about him again, let alone be completely and utterly confused (near on constantly) by the very idea of him. It had put a sudden halt to her life as she attempted to understand her own thoughts; she had been on her way to visit her brother, after all, and yet now she had made a temporary home in the free lands among the rocks and roots of the forest. She had to admit that it was hardly ideal. She had no doubt in her mind that her father and mother would have found the idea of such a place rather... disagreeable and so, she had kept to herself the best she could while she spent her time there. It had been an easy life, at least: hunt, sleep, watch and repeat. She had learnt much more out there than she had in any pack so far. Or maybe she was just telling herself that to make her time there seem less pointless.

Nonetheless, she had done well to keep herself busy. She had taken to the fields for a short time; she had spent her morning hunting small rats as they scuttled about the tall grass. From her position by the forest's borders, she had found a good viewpoint that allowed her to watch as loners passed by in the distance. In a sense, it gave her a little more normalcy. It almost made her feel like she was back in Spirane, really; she had watched several wolves pass by as she chewed aimlessly on the tail of her last rat.

She bit down hard and fast, though, when she noticed a familiar shade of blue-grey in the fields. He had slipped into her field of vision without her knowing, suddenly in front of her as she narrowed her eyes. Who was that beside him? A small female - darker than herself and seemingly very comfortable with closeness. Though she had the temptation to move closer, she remained crouched upon her rock as she watched; she could not hear their exchange but she could easily distinguish their varied emotions. It seemed... unusual. If she had to be honest, she had to admit that she did not like it. Not entirely, at least. It was mostly the unknowing that drove her from her place, having swallowed down her snack as she slipped free from her confines and moved through the tall grass like a serpent. By the time she had come close enough to hear the pair, the female had begun to take her leave - but, of course, not before she had delivered a lick to Tithe's face. It made Pandora pause, sinking low against the earth until the female had taken her leave entirely (or, at least, Pandora assumed that had been the case - she had not paid that much attention to her, after all). Only then did she slither forward once more, taking some minute or two to arrive at Tithe's precise location.

She moved from behind him, having arced around so that she might go undetected. She rose suddenly as she cleared her throat in a quiet ahem - as he turned, he would have found her blackened eyes on him immediately. They had never left him, after all.

"Fancy finding you here," she breathed, her brow crooked and lip pulled back into an amused grin, "It seems you are settling in well." It was only then that her eyes darted towards where the girl had been, a subtle hint at the implication. She did not know why but she had hardly expected him to be so... close to another. She had assumed otherwise and, honestly, she felt a little foolish for it.
