Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Halcyon

It wasn’t long until a wolf came to meet Halcyon at the border. He had never met Eden before, but there was no doubt in his mind that he was one who stood before him now. It wasn’t because he toward over the pup or that he raised his tail to confirm he was the alpha. It was his eyes. They stared directly at Halcyon with a power only a ruler could command. At once, the boy felt his tail fall instinctively and he crouched low, though he was already smaller than the older male. For a few moments, nothing was said as Eden gazed at the child. Then, he spoke. It was a simple question and enough to snap Halcyon out of the trance and remember why he had come.

He bowed deeply for a moment then returned to a neutral standing position, avoiding direct contact with Eden. ”Yes, I am Halcyon, son of Iblis and Rhae, resident of Iromar and here on behalf of Empress Aithne.” he said clearly, jumping into the formal ways ingrained deep in his blood. It almost came naturally to him and though he barely remembered, his father had often talked in the same manner. Since this was a diplomatic mission, the boy knew it was best to remain formal and submissive. Eden was in charge here and Halcyon was sure to let him know that in subtle ways. With the introduction out of the way, it was time to get to business.

”Our two packs have a common neutrality with one another but we would like to extend a paw of trust towards Glorall. I have come on a diplomatic mission to prove to you we would like to become your allies one day. My Empress has requested that I bring a wolf my own age with me back to Iromar as an honored guest. I am two years, soon to be three when the spring thaw returns to Moladion. I promise you they will be in my care and protection for their entire stay. I will give my life for them should any danger come to ensure they return home safely.”

This coming from a child not yet grown into his paws might seem strange and outlandish, but the determination in those brown eyes did not hide any lies. It might seem a bit dramatic and the mention of any danger would make some wolves doubt Iromar, but Halcyon tried his best. He was still new to the game after all and diplomacy was not his strongest skill. Hoping he did not seem foolish, Halcyon waited for Eden’s reply. The alpha alone would determine of the boy passed of failed his mission.
