Samus laughed as her playmate fell into the snow, her tail giving a few fierce wags. "I win." She exclaimed triumphantly before the plaintive cry of pain reached her ears. They fell flat against her head- she had never meant to hurt anyone and it made her feel inexplicably awful. The girl let out a small whine, dropping to her belly and wriggling closer to her newfound friend, her expression unsure. Not once did it cross her mind that it could possibly be a trick, she was uncharacteristically concerned thinking she could have hurt someone that just a few moments ago she was having fun with. It brought her back to the traumatic time of the attack, thinking she could have hurt someone like that wolf had hurt her and Nymeria...
"Are ya okay?" Samus said with the slightest of whimpers, her tail giving a few hesitant thumps against the ground. "I-I'm real sorry for hurtin' ya." All the playful wildness was gone from her voice and was replaced with pure concern and regret. It was truly the first time she had seen someone that she cared about get hurt as a result of her, and it made her feel terrible knowing that she was little better than the wolf who had attacked her.
The girl noted that her friend smelled like Spirane, and a vaguely familiar scent clung to her pelt as well. "Ya live in Spirane, right? I can help ya home, okay? And then some healer can look at your paw." Samus said worriedly, finally getting to her feet and offering her shoulder to the other girl. It was a strange feeling, this concern for another, and she wasn't exactly sure where it had come from.
"Anyways, what's yer name? I'm Samus." She asked with a tilt of her head. The puppyish drawl was beginning to fade as she aged, but it was still there, somewhat. Samus liked it though, and thought it made her sound different and cool and special. And plus it made all her jokes sound much funnier, at least, to her.
