The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Although she was still nervous, Gaia could see her warming up a little bit. Her body still showed the signs of fear and if the copper girl were to make a wrong move, she would bolt and never be heard from again. Gaia did not move towards her or show any signs of doing so. She simply remained where she was and listened, which was probably all the stranger needed. Ears perked and eyes forward, Gaia let her new found companion know she had her full attention. A stranger had come and hurt her and she was scared he was still here. The ex-princess didn’t think she was wrong. There were many dangerous wolves who called Moladion home.

Tesseract. The name certainly sounded familiar. All she knew of him was that he had once been the alpha of Glorall and an ally of her old pack. Other than that, she had no clue. "Sadly, I don’t know much about Tesseract. When I left Moladion, he was alpha of Glorall. But I have been gone for many years and don’t know the current events of this place anymore.” Her reply didn’t seem to cheer the other up at all. She watched her ears droop as she mentioned that nothing felt like home anymore. Gaia chuckled sadly. "I know what you mean.”

Then, Alana apologized. Gaia shook her head and smiled. "No need to apologize. The past may be painful, but it’s what’s made us who we are today. The stories of our past, and the lives of those who lived before us, helps us learn and grow. We become stronger because of stores. Thank you for sharing yours with me.” Bowing her head, the russet girl waited a moment then looked out of the cave. The day was wearing out outside and the sun was beckoning for the wolves to come out. She turned her ears back and looked at Alana. ”I don’t have a home either. If you want, I can travel with you for a while. Two wolves are stronger than one, no matter the size. We will be safe together,” she said with a friendly smile.

Then, as if to prove her point, she walked to the cave and stood with her fur shimmering in the sun light. Though the wind was cool, the sun gave off a pleasant warmth that made her shudder happily. Gazing back down into the cave, she smiled again and leaned down on her front paws so her rump was in the air and her tail wagged gently. "Come on! Let’s go make new stories together!”
