Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Winter was hot upon all of our heels - more so for the ladies than the boys. We had the burden to carry with us a literal magnet for every male that we happened to slip by and to go unnoticed was practically unheard of. I had done well thus far this season to keep myself out of trouble with the casanovas of Moladion but who is to say that they can be kept at bay forever? I had found comfort and security within the gypsy group that I traveled with and never once had to confront a zealous male alone. They were truly a blessing bestowed upon me.

But in my time of barrenness I find a distraction other than my fellow gypsies within a stranger whom I've come to know as Sorcha. They do say great minds think alike and I must admit that we were both brilliant. How was it that I could find someone with the same interest in bringing others together? A miracle, honestly! And today was the big meeting day; we had planned it all out down to the very last detail, it was only up to the interested parties to follow along.

With a fresh coating of snow upon all that surrounded the river I found the perfect area to host my bachelorettes. A small bend in the river created an exquisite alcove while snow blanketed spruce and pine trees offered cover from the elements. The contrast was beautiful and the setting serene; the best way to get to know some of my fellow singles. With a light-noted song sent to the wind I wait for the first to arrive, my rump settled neatly upon the earth with tail curved gently around and acute ears perked to attention.
