LIKE A WALK IN THE PARK, LIKE A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD
She had slipped out of her den in the early morning, the sun just barely beginning to peak over the sea. Many were still asleep in their dens and for that Ehiyeh was glad. Today was a trophy-hunting day, a day to catch what she could and terrorize what she couldn't. She was sure that all the living rabbits and birds and other animals knew her by name now, they must after all- she kept many of their brethren within her den. And they had become... friends, in a way, perhaps not quite like her brother's friends but they were companions all the same. They were good listeners and they never talked back or were annoying like sentient creatures.
Ehiyeh flicked her tail, excitement shining in her purple eyes- the act of the hunt was thrilling, after all. She walked up the beach and into the trees, flicking sand off her paws as she went- the only really annoying thing about living down by the beach- and looking out for any potential trophy. It was a good life that she led, her prowess in hunting meant that she could easily feed herself, and she had no real need for companionship. It really worked out quite well.
Her ears swiveled forward as she heard the crunching sound of footsteps. Dropping into a hunter's crouch she crawled forward, belly brushing up against the grass. As she approached, she saw the spotted cat, a large lynx carrying one of the sea birds that squawked and cawed around Glorall. Ehiyeh's eyes widened. If she could just... kill this it would be one of her greatest trophies she had caught so far! With hardly a thought to her own well-being she burst out of the bushes, yipping and barking and hoping to startle the lynx into thinking she was much bigger than she actually was.
But, apparently, the big cat was far smarter than she had anticipated. Ehiyeh's ears fell flat and she snarled as the lynx turned and hissed at her, rearing up and swiping with it's large clawed paw. So maybe she should have taken on this lynx when she was a little bit bigger. She ducked out of the way, and backed up, swallowing as the cat approached her. Yes, it would have been much smarter of her to have simply turned the other way.
