It had been a season or so since I had last seen that bohemian beauty on the edge of the Ruieze lake. A fleeting moment that had come and gone. It had been a rather boring winter thus far, my hormones flaring each time I caught a whiff of a passing lady. My tail would rise and I would bark, perhaps in a way that others might consider cheesy, yet I found myself infinitely charming. It was a trait that was passed down through the family - I was assured of this, my silky black fur rippling in a sudden wintry gust. The silver that went from my chest, down my belly, and edged my jaw and the back of my knees on my forelegs, it gleams bright against the darkness of the rest of my fur. It was striking. I was striking. I was also strutting as I heard the call for males, my ears flicking forward and metallic silver-blue eyes narrowing in anticipation.
My pace increases through the snow, fairly scowling at the cumbersome stuff as I lift my legs high in order to not scatter it all across me. Crunch, Crunch, Crunch. It was a good thing I had not decided to hunt today, all this crunching would scare away any game, not to mention the scents of wolves that grew stronger with each step. Females - many different females. My nostrils flare to catch their scents, their bodies changing for the winter rush, eager to find a mate or companion, and I find my own body responds to the scents with a tightening of my muscles.
I spy the caller of the group, glancing in the distance to spy a group of females. It was clear that this tan and black woman was designated women. Would they pair us up? Well, that would be interesting. I find a spot in a semi-circle around Sorcha, tilting my head to catch her words and grinning unabashedly.
"I desire a beautiful female who enjoys roaming, romping, and has a mischievous streak. I do not want one who is easily controlled or is foolish. Or too innocent, for that matter," I add, eyes glancing up as I pondered for a moment before giving her a firm nod to say that I was done. Clear and concise. Certainly I could find that, right?
