sing the song with the heart of the people
The child was sweet and oh so very innocent. Natu hopes that nothing will change that, that no demon in the mist will come out to hurt the poor child. It was a sad thing to lose that faith in others, the puckered scar above her right eye testament to that. The way Lillith had used her recent status as a mother to lull Natu into complacency and the way her teeth had felt as they ripped into Natu's shoulder. She remembered it vividly - it was not a memory that would ever go away. In a way it had led her to this moment, though, and she finds solace in that. The world turned and events circled one another but she was alive and that was truly all that mattered. Alive with a mate and children and a comfortable existence in this lovely sea-side land. Even if at times she felt a stab of pain when she looked to the mountains, her mountain blood missing the peaks and rises and her friends there.
Why does Inanna tuck her head down in a way that is either sneaky or bashful? Natu cannot fathom but it eases her because she is just a child. Children often thought much differently than adults and she is patient, merely watching the girl and waiting for an answer. I like finding things, Inanna exclaims, and Natu grins at her, feeling the exuberance in her bones. "Is that so? I think if you really tried and you paid close attention you could become a great healer. My daughter, Samia, wants to learn healing as well. One day you should come by, have Thor show you to our den, and you and Samia can train together." What an amazing idea and a push in the direction that Inanna might wish to go. Will you watch my stick? Her eyes light up as she leans down to sniff the stick that is sitting beneath Inanna's paw. "Yes, it seems a naughty stick, I will not let it scamper off." She places one lean paw on top it beside Inanna's, solemnly looking at the girl. "Find your rock, Inanna, the stick and I will not be going anywhere until you have it safely!"
